❤❤❤❤ I think what is even more extraordinary is the respect shown to the horse guard by the father and son and then the guard inside! What beautiful examples of how humans should treat other humans regardless of who is in what role. Not every disability is visable. Perhaps we all could learn many lessons with just this one video as an example.❤❤❤❤

Horses are perceptive, not all knowing. And they don't always act gently towards disabled people. If they did, Rusty Williams, the paraplegic who still rides, wouldn't get bucked off.
@jturtle5318

@@JohnaFactsDontCare...well, getting on them is a different game. My teenage half-Belgian mare would let the neighborhood kids swarm her, pull her ears (she'd put her head down to eat the dandelions they'd bring), walk underneath her, etc. If I lifted them on, she'd plod slowly around the yard. Let a man try to ride her, and she turned into a rodeo bronco. She was a maneater!

@@jturtle5318 lol, that's too funny! I love Belgians, any draft horse really. I have an 2 old guys, both retired law enforcement horses, both 27, that are the same with anyone but men. They don't buck, but they sure don't have that babysitter attitude with the men. And when I tack up, they perk up and act like 5yr olds with something to prove. Male egos. Lol (they also act as the ladder to hang Christmas lights, such good boys) But then I have a strawberry dun mare (9), gorgeous girl, that ONLY likes men. Her previous owner taught her to sit, bow, count, and open gates. I got her when he died, but still curse his name every time she gets out, then let's the others out. She knows better than to buck with me, but she snorts really loudly to let me know she's not happy. But, my son, who's not crazy about horses, she's in love with him. Go figure. The little gaited paso finos, bougiest horses ever, they look down on everybody as commoners lol

@@maybarnard1088 that's exactly what I expect from him, just get the horse's attention by moving the reins, he'll stop immediately. So little effort. And people always mention the warning sign... It says horses may bite or kick. Dumbest sign ever, just states what everyone all ready knows. BTW, you can bite or kick, do you wear a sign? I called HCMR and the sign doesn't absolve the animal owners of responsibility, and they said part of the guard's responsibility is PUBLIC SAFETY. A better sign would be one that says what safe proximity to the horse is.

Those horses are so skilled in assessing human energies and intentions. One can see it in the horses eyes, body stance/ language, movements... Seeing the blind man approach, first assessment, greet, assess, and then standing perfectly still and silent, making no noises with it's tack or body. Appreciating the level of respect the blind man and his company shows. Still watching it's surroundings, guarding the crowd - in cooperation with it's human soldier. Watch the small relaxing in the neck when the blind man leaves, the horse's eyes following him and one can almost feel that if someone had messed with the blind man, then the guardhorse would have made it's mind clear. Protecting the ones needing protection, keeping control over the crowd as well as it's royal guarding duties. This guardhorse is a pro. The soldier must be in perfect communication and sync with his mount, the level of trust between them making them a successful team. Sometimes when one sees horses like this one can swear it was born i Narnia. Beautiful powerful soulful and knowing. Thank you for showing us this video.

I have so much respect for these men and their horses. They deal in graceful humanity one second only to have to deal with people behaving at their worse the next moment.

I always love seeing the King's Guard do subtle things like their, despite their responsibility and incredible professionalism; they're human beings and are often, very quietly incredibly kind and caring to tourists.

The horses have such incredible senses. They can be pretty testy towards some people, but I think that's often attributed to the energy they sense from the person, because when it comes to people with disabilities they're always so calm and gentle... They know when they're in the presence of a kind gentle soul. It's beautiful to see.

I think this is the greatest thing about your country. It's a great blend of honor and tradition. The most obnoxious/rude people always seem to be called out, but those with special needs seem to have the most humane reactions from the Guards and horses because they're the most gentle and polite.

I was very touched and humbled by this young man, navigating his way through life without sight. It's something which probably all of us take for granted. You just realise how lucky we are with having eyes that give us sight. I hope he had a wonderful day with the Horse Guards, who were very good with him. Notice they didn't shout in his presence, which could have given him an unexpected fright, even if the shouting wasn't directed towards the young man. And I admire so much the carer, giving the young man the chance to touch and smell the horse, which is how he will process this into his memory. I wish that young man the best life possible, and with carers who will love and care for him. As a society we have a collective responsibility to ensure that those with special needs, receive all the assistance required to make their lives as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. ❤

I agree as I have noticed in watching all of these videos that in each video the horse seems to know the person is disabled. The horses become so gentle and interested

As an owner of horses - the horsed recognised the frailty of the young man and acknowledged him - its what people who kill and eat animals fail to recognize that animals have more sixth sense and understanding than we will ever have - lovely video and i loved the way he sniffed his hand - horses small beautiful

The father and son approach this horse quite slowly, and the father seems to ask the Guard if the horse can be touched. This young teen reaching out to touch a horse had to be exciting, and the mutual respect and deference given to all makes this a very nice meet and greet.

A horse's intelligence never ceases to amaze me. They sense us individually. The horse brings its head to the young man but never moves its feet even though the ym raises his own and turns- the horse remains calm. They did not train this horse to do this; to interact with those who can't see. Its instinct
