Hi: I NEVER comment on anything. My goal is to just enjoy the music which, to me, is the poetry of our souls. Over the years I have fed my passion by collecting 2oth century music . I have several thousand selected songs by the original artists. I was a high school history teacher and I used the music every day by starting ond/or ending my classes. The kids loved it. Who doesn't love music, right? I thought I knew most of the artists from the Big Band, Swing Era, but I recently discovered this song and it was like someone dying of thirst nd given a bottle of water. This is a great, "cool" version and the persentation exemplifies the genre of the song (I bet that Sarah Vaughn would have done this song justice also and perhaps Ella but her voice and selection of songs might have prevented her from doing it). I wish tht the piano exerp was done true to form however, but I get it. The original version was originally released in 1933 by Julia Lee & Her Boy Friends. I NEVER heard of them. How great is this? Something different so now it gives me that shot in the arm of DISCOVERY! She represents to me a refreshing look at that subliminal tract of musical life that is deeply imbeded in the underbelly of generational music. Every kind of music it seems has a label of sorts, but in my eyes I try to just listen and let my senses talk to me. This is great stuff for me. This song has been in my head now since I discovered it two days ago. When I walk, I walk to it. I am not Travolta carrying a can of paint, but I can feel it. It's like watching fish swim in an acquarium. Peace People!
