The ferries on the Murray river here in South Australia are also free and run 24/7. Couldn't see if your's run on cables there like our's or are steerable "boat" type ferries( our's have very prominent bollards for the cables up by the boom gates) our ferries are often named after local birds.
@TravelsByTrike3 жыл бұрын
There were a few types of ferries in the area. Most were closed when we wanted to cross. This one doesn't use a cable. Thanks for following along!

Thanks! I use Epidemic Sound for KZbin safe music. It takes a long time to pick because I don't have a relationship to anything there but they have a wide variety and I was happy to find some Delta blues.

WOW, I used to live there when I was in Grad School, when I saw you cross the Antioch bridge I was like holy cow. I owned a 38ft riverqueen and lived at Eddo's Boat Harbor just outside of Rio Vista, on the Island between Antioch and Rio Vista. I swam in the Delta almost every day. Ended u selling my boat and moving to Treasure Island when I started my Thesis. Your video was a great Blast from the past.

Really fun to watch as your videos always are, Sylvia. Loved the hawk. A similar bird perched on the clothesline in our yard here in Indiana a few months ago. It stared at wife and me as we watched from the picture window, and of course, flew off as soon as I returned from getting my camera! Thanks for sharing. Glad you didn't try to ride across that bridge you showed at the beginning.

Sylvia, still waiting for you to come to Tucson for a few days this winter. I ran into Dave about a week ago (recognized the snazzy wood fenders on his HP (The name of his companion escapes me at the moment; however, the homemade windsock with the multi-colored tinsel really impressed me!)... It will be in the 70s today with a few clouds but with ample sunshine as I ride. It was in the 70s yesterday when the Tucson Ukulele Meetup group got together outside in a library portico to play music (social distancing to be on the safe side). I'm the bass player. Most of us are chronologically challenged and all are vaccinated. 8-)

Thanks, Terrie! I use Epidemic Sound for the music. This is a subscription service with KZbin safe music. The ride is probably listed on the BARC Meet up page. They may have other rides in the area and this one started in Rio Vista.

As a kid in the 60's the waterways of the Delta is where I called home. You missed so much. Rent a house boat and try living there. First learn to read a chart.
@TravelsByTrike3 жыл бұрын
Haha, yes, I'm sure I missed a lot but I was on a group ride and only went where the leader took us. I'll be back another time. I doubt I'll take the time to learn to read boating charts though.
