This was mixed at King Tubby's Studio by Prince Jammys .... Fact ..People who put out bootleg cd's with the wrong information have no respect themselves or the recording artists.. The wicked shall never prosper.

i see some strange comments, like who's on musicians side, who's on engineer side etc....people, music is a sum of multiple talents, period. this tune is a masterpiece because some great musicians have recorded in a great studio with a great producer believing in the talent, and mastertape handed over to a great engineer in tubby's studio. You would have never heard this track in 2016 if the mastertape would have been given to treasure isle engineer for ex....

Those comments are being made by people who have no idea how any music is made, much less this kind of music, much less dub reggae.

In my humble opinion, they are both amazing. if you only listen to one or the other, then you are walking around with half a brain haha. I also really love how English bands like the clash ( and many others) have Jamaican influenced songs like Bankrobba and then make Dubs of them. It seems so silly to argue over music that is supposed to make you feel good...

As much as a genius that Tubbys is, lets not forget the amazing musicians who gave him the material to work with.

Right 👍. The musicians are almost always overlooked generally seen in the lack of compliments from commenters on most platforms...Without those amazing rhythm sections and the rest, there's NO DUB....

And I and I can confirm that under the banner of the Aggrovators, the great legendary Sly Dunbar was responsible for the incredible, one of a kind drums and percussions in this monumental dub original put out as 'Dub is Shining' based on Bob Marley's 'Sun is Shining.' Robbie Shakespeare was on bass. Earl Chinna Smith was on lead guitar. Prince Jammy was the Engineer most probably under the gaze of King Tubby's. Sir Bunny Lee was the Producer. Without question this is one of the top two greatest dubs of all time, the other of course being 'King Tubby's Meets the Rockers Uptown' (King Tubby's/ Augustus Pablo). One mark of a great dub is that it leaves its base track behind in the shade. This dub perfectly fits the bill as it leaves Bob Marley's Sun is Shining a long way behind.

The King & Bunny 'Striker' Lee made two dub LP's, Dub From The Roots & The Roots Of Dub & then another named Brass Rockers with Tommy McCook playing over some of Johnny Clarke's Flying cymbal rhythms. But all of those Tubbys albums that you see out on the street... most of them are frauds as it was only three albums (already listed above) that Tubby did & perhaps one named Shalom Dub. You could call that Tubbys too because he mixed the versions but they were versions off of forty fives. Klik took it & put it out but the third is Brass Rockers with Tommy McCook 'pon the flying cymbals where he mixed it with the horn going in & out in a kind of dub way but all the others are a man just get something & say it's King Tubbys. Bunny Lee & Tubbys used to do a whole heap of different forty fives too. They can get put together & we can call it 'Unreleased Tubbys,'! Bunny 'Striker' Lee Writings.

@RydemsplertIMPARTIALMUSIC4 жыл бұрын
Into reggae for more than 36 yrs - and btw this is the best dub record by Tubbys I've ever heard. Not sure who did the mix on this one. It could've been Tubbys himself, I reckon.. While Prince Jammy and Scientist (and maybe others) also worked as engineers there (King Tubbys Studio). A real insider and dub professional (Twilight Circus) said it sounds like a Jammys mixdown. He also posted the following: '' One my favorites from King Tubby - mega rare & obscure early 70s dubmix: /watch?v=hPeag6tba90 ''
