Rip King Tubby. The best sound. The deepest sound. Still rare to hear drum and bass sounding as good as in 70s and 80s Jamaican music. In some aspects we have gone backwards.

tubby 's was a master technician and engineer he build is own amplifier,he and a guy name brooks that build my amplifier use to work together.Those were the days when we had tube amplifiers.i remember one time he had 2 -16 kt88 playing just bass.Nobody else had that kind of power.

Hi. Kt88 is wery good tube, much better than 6550. More output power and lower distortion. I just check prices and matched pair is 550e . I like tubeamblifiers simply construction, no need pc-board just wired a round and connect what you need. Output transformer is critical and expensive component if good sound is needed. Do you remember what bass speaker Tubby used? Greetings from Frozen Finland
