State visit to Russia - July 1902
Here I present an album of photographs showing the arrival, in St Petersburg, of King Emmanuel III the King of Italy as he begins a State Visit to Russia in July 1902.
".....At the banquet the Emperor Nicholas II , in toasting the King, said:
It Is with lively and deep satisfaction that •we greet your Majesty, and is especially agreeable to us. that your Majesty has begun his travels by visiting us. The whole of Russia sees therein a fresh proof of the bonds of true friendship which unite us and identifies Itself with our sentiments. These feelings of mutual sympathy, which are increasingly apparent between our two peoples favour the development of the most desirable relations and interests of the two countrles......"

Those was great times for the collaboration between Italy and Russia. Tzar Nicholas the Second wanted our help to improve the country, industrialized it, to build up and design their navy. We also contributed to the construction of the Trans-Siberian Railway. And our collaboration with Russia continue even during the Soviet period and incredibly even during the Cold War while we was supposed to be "enemies". In reality, friendship between Italy and Russia was never broken by these irrelevant facts. We produced and exchanged a lot of things for and in Russia. Just remember the car factory plant of FIAT in Togliattigrad. What an exquisite example of friendship and collaboration between a communist country and a capitalist country. If only the world had followed our example, the Cold War would have been ended in totally different way and peace and coexistence would have been possible and a reality even keeping different socio-economic models. We both experienced the suffering of an unworthy war when we was put together in that butchery shop that was the WW2. In misery and desperation, we collaborated and respected each others in order to survive. Despite we was enemies, we knew solidly what was the right thing to do: spare the people from suffering, keeping our people together, end up the war. This could be again our mission today.

For a question Is Victor Emmanuel III dictator like Mussolini ? I mean , when ww2 happen , why he didn't show up but allow Mussolini follow German ?

After the First World War, between 1919 and 1922 in Italy anarchy spread, due to devastanting economical crysis with harsh fighting among fascists and socialists. the liberal governments weren’t able to mantain order. So the king thought that only Mussolini could restore order in the country. When Mussolini succedeed in order restoration with banning all the political parties, King Victor Emmanuel III, thought mussolini could be righteous future and liberal governments the past, so he tied himself to the dictator. The choices of Victor Emmanuel were orrible. Accepted the alliance with Hitler, accepted the Racial laws against jewish and accepted to enter in Second world war, and in 1943 after armistice ran away leaving the Country in disarray in front of german vengeance.

@@lambro86milano27 non accetto mai i patti d'acciaio anzi considerava Hitler un pazzo che doveva solo morire,e i le leggi razziali fu costretto a firmale dai duce,dato che il re rispose a Mussolini che lui era uno dei tanti 2000 o un altra cifra,che si preoccupa dei ebrei italiani (primi ad unirsi alle camice nere dato che molti provenivano dalle terre irredente) come già detto delle leggi razziali tutta la camera voto favorevole tranne ai quei pochi che votarono contro Italo Balbo,Emilio de Bono e de Vecchi che ormai non venivano più considerati
