I bought this game on PC, PS4, Switch, Android, and Fire Tablet. across all platforms I have close to 5000 hours in this game. it is my all time favorite game and I started gaming in 1993 with Wolfenstein 3D. I've played everything from Silent Hill, Doom, Duke Nukem, SIMFarm (this one really got me into farming RPG'S) ....my favorite game was GTA San Andreas for maaaany years until I found this gem. I've been unable to sit up for more than a few hours a day for most of the last three years, and stardew valley is the #1 thing that's helped me cope with that. I get that feeling of being productive, of being a part of something big and important, I get to meet new people and grow to love them... and I can do silly things, like make my horse try on all my hats, or spend days and days and days mining, or fishing, or aimlessly wandering. All without having to sit up. I have over 600 hours logged in sdv, and I don't see that stagnating for very long anytime soon. This game is more than an escape for me - it's an entirely different *life* that I can participate in how I want to, instead of how I *can*

Life simulation games, such as SDV, have always managed to keep me distracted (in a good way) from my long time depression and anxiety. That is the reason why it is my favorite genre of video games. The mods that fellow SDV players create for other players to use to make the game a much better experience are also what keeps me playing this game. 😁💕

@@evertonc1448 I think potential plays a part in it, but what's more important... he made this game in 6 years when he didn't have any job opportunities, so how did he earn money? Maybe he already had someone to help him out. And also, how did he find the option to hone his craft previously? What I'm saying is it's not like he made this out of a cardboard box. Most of the time the reason people aren't able to make money is NOT laziness. This guy made an amazing piece of art by working extremely hard, that's true, but he was also at the right place at the right time. Downloaded this a few weeks ago and it's been such a cosy little retreat since and honestly the first 'hobby' I have genuinely enjoyed and wanted to actually do in a while And weirdly getting that feeling of wanting to do something back has translated into a little bit of real world motivation, and helped me start doing things I used to enjoy like baking and knitting again. I think the lack of pressure to do anything well because you just have infinite time, is honestly what makes it so relaxing to play, and a nice change in mindset from what we are bombarded with day to day 🥰
