Sorry to kill your Vibe.. But that is SOOOOOO Wrong... As a person who worked in the studio back in thoes times.. NEVER like that.. they where NOT RICH.. Most of them went BROKE of the advance.. they get a HUGE advance for 1 or 2 record deal... then they buy house, car, jewlery, what ever.. by time the money from the deal was gone they where Broke.. The ADVANCE killed them.. they never looked at the contract, that's why they gave them so much advance money.. blind them.. I know a few that Had to pay back the advance money and still OWE money for the deal.. Most of the contracts, the lable would put in it. the Studio time, CD, record, and tape press, enginneer time, food in studio, transportaion, sometimes, music videos, and other things would come out the Money they got paid.. So by time the album was done they where BROKE... thats why they always did show's.. Show mone is where they BANKED money.. (still do, and why you see lot of older rappers still doing shows..) And if you didnt pay attention they took your publising deal also (like puff).. SAD how they played them.. cause then the labels make most the money when the Stuff sell's and plays on the radio.. :( man i can give you stories and dirt on some ppl. .LoL..
