Not really. It's very simple marketing wize and very easy to understand from a marketing/investor perspective: Jack Harlow has a bigger demographic (because he is white, and because he is cool enough with not a bad personal record and thus alot of white people will support that) and thus Jack has become more marketable in music, movies and hell even cerial boxes etc hence his streaming numbers will be always bigger, he will be placed in big commercials and alot of movies will come to his way too if he can act. Better marketable you understand and thus more money he will make for investors. Street rappers or the Lil Uzi verts of the world etc have a way smaller demographic to market to, only the hood or emo rap fans will support them and here and there a selected white audience, that means lower stream numbers, maybe here and there a commercial but you can forget about big commercials like cereal and or movies. Bad investment for investors because with those type of rappers it's not certain the invested money can be recouped with profits to invest in them. Look I would love to see a black man rapper getting marketed like a Jack Harlow too, but you got to start off right, no bad personal record, no weird music name, use your real name like a Will Smith and now you have a change to become super big like the Drake's of the world in music, commercials and movies even if you want to. But most popular black man rappers come with a bad personal record, a weird rapper name instead of their own name etc, not really marketable and their demographic is smaller than the white audience overall.

The thing with Fivio is that he's following a successful blueprint Pop Smoke died 50 Cent produced his album and threw a bunch of Lit Niggas on it to make it sale. Fivio had Kanye produce his album and had a few lit niggas on it to make it sale so why didn't he make it work it's because his music has no substance it's literally the same thing ever song just a bunch of Drill songs, Drill will be replaced with the next thing and all he can do is Drill music. Fivio Foreign ain't never been The King Of New York he's not even in the conversation.

@@vi2935 because it's just a fade it's literally Blueface, most of the XXL 2021 Class, ect. Here today gone tomorrow he should be happy Kanye produced it and that he can rack up some hits but he's not staying long. 2 Chainz knew he wouldn't be around forever and got into different ventures nothing wrong with that.

@@shinymew2887 it's not for everyone personally I think of New York Rap and NY Drill doesn't fit it's beyond basic. And i don't know if you fuck with the other 2 drills but when you compare the 3 Chicago, U.K., NY sorry is what it is 🤷‍♂️

Jack Harlow is the kind of success story that encourages me as a underground artist with a small following. Seeing how he’s developed his skills and slowly blown up after seizing each and every opportunity he’s been giving has been inspirational! Mans has quickly become a mainstay in the industry and for good reason. Dude is too nice! I know if I put in the work, I can reach a larger audience some day too, but for now, I’m happy being a supporter. My turn will come too. Salute to Jack Harlow🔥

Why do I feel like it's only hip hop and rap that noticed this problem or even say anything about it maybe I'm wrong but I haven't seen any other genres speaking about this new way music is consumed which is crazy why.

man bottom line is, rap is a job as well. thats why all these numbers come into play. its a fucking job with an employer and hierarchies and terms and demands and everything that come with a corporate job. it just look alot cooler than most. and just as with anything else in life, the quality of your work and relationships will get you further
