I don’t think in cordae’s situation it had much to do with him dating Naomi. I think his initial buzz came from him riding the wave of YBN Nahmir when he was popping at the time and then the “j.cole response” and freestyles he followed up with during the time of the “mumble rap” era. Then on top of that we kept seeing all this big names co-signing him before his first project. Unfortunately he just hasn’t created any radio hits and he keeps hella low key, but doesn’t have the level of mystique about him to where enough ppl are wondering when the new Cordae is about to drop.
