DUNCAN here. Thanks for the kind comments and to King Boomer for the shout out! I have an amazing life, not only am I a huge comedy fan, I'm very lucky to work in comedy. More than that I'm a muppet. King & Queen B are my favourite reactors and every now and then I'll send them some stuff I think they'll enjoy because I really enjoy watching them. That's it. Hardly takes up anytime. Anyway - I've not been about watching the channel for a couple of weeks as I've been busy back on the road doing stand-up comedy & filming. Who knows - I might even get King Boomer to react to some of the stuff I've been shooting one day when it's out! Thanks!!

They used a real execution chamber (some older British prisons still have them despite none being used since abolition in the mid 1960’s) so the lever is the real thing.

Regarding the desired lack of muppetry when waiting to be hanged - the British system was pretty rapid. Unknown to the condemned man the gallows was located in a room connected via a concealed door to their cell. At 8am the hangman and assistant would enter the cell and the wardens in the cell would open the connecting door while the condemned man was being turned around and his hands tied. It was less than ten paces to the trapdoor and the noose was already set up at the right height. Hood on, noose on, feet bound with a leather strap and the lever pulled... The aim was to get it all done in less than a minute from the time the hangman entered the condemned cell. Too fast for panic and undue misery/fear. Albert Pierrepoint used to aim to get it completed in less than 20 seconds.

9pm actually. My dad actually took the job of one of the two guys who were the last hanged in Britain, the guys who rode up to Cumbria to rob and murder who was probably one's old gay lover. He was even given his old uniform to wear. Nice...

I also went to college in the late 80s with Pierrepont's very tall very achny-ish grandson. Pierrepont lived very close by here for a while. Then became a pub landlord. But for a time he lived in the Preston area, Tarleton if memory serves me right.
