I loved so much the automatic "well I can't read greek" meanwhile other people were like "is this hebrew or russian?" 😂

It was Greek (It was a excerpt from the philosopher Plato) So the first part was (in my interpretation) the garden, with the snake trying to convince him to give in to his sexuality ("if Eve ain't in your garden you know that you can" - i.e. if you're not gettin'with a woman, you can give info your desire for a man), and he eventually gives in, then it moves to the judgement scene and he's being explicit about what who he is and what he wants through the lyrics, basically saying this is who i am and I'm gonna be true to that, and basically giving a middle finger to christian condemnation. He then gets accepted by God and starts floating up to heaven, and he's like "nope, everyone told me i was going to hell, and now I'm gonna rule that sh*t"

The lyrics were inspired by a recent fling that he had with a Down Low man. The visuals incorporated the stories of the Garden of Eden and Greek mythology. The engraving on the Tree of Life is from Plato's Symposium: "So in the beginning when they were cut in two, they yearned for each other's half" The god Zeus had second thoughts after creating man so he cut them in half. Explains why we are attracted to our soulmates or our better half. The scene in the arena represents how society judges and condemns gays. Fun fact: When he got stoned to death by there crowd, the fatal blow to the head was from a clear Butt Plug. the curls on his forehead when he had long red braided hair going to hell had 666 on each side. The writing on the pentagram on the floor of Satan's throne is Latin: "They reject what they do not understand" Montero's story describes how accepting ones true self allows you to conquer any adversity.

The core mythology here is definitely more Judaeo-Christian and all the characters are him because it's his internal struggle. Lil Nas X was a closeted gay church boy and this video is about facing those religious fears that he's going to hell. The serpent and the devil represent what he was taught was evil, his being gay. This video and song is him saying, fine, if being me means "being evil" then I'll own it. I'll be my true, gay self no matter how evil people thinks that it makes me. The chorus "Call me by your name" is his gay side trying to get him to acknowledge himself and his truth. Montero is Lil Nas X's real name.

Since you asked if you missed anything, I’m thinking the fact that he was killed by someone in the crowd throwing a buttplug at his head. Honestly, you weren’ttoo far off. It’s basically just a big middle finger to all the people saying we LGBTQ+ are going to hell. He trolled them and said “if I’m going to hell, I’m taking a stripper pole down and I’m gonna take that shit over.”
