I was there on Sunday , too! This is my home park and it was a very emotional weekend for many of us Coaster Enthusiasts~ I would have loved to say hello ( your videos from the California parks helped me plan my trip this Summer)! If you and your daughter are not ACE members ( American Coaster Enthusiasts ), you should consider joining for all the fun events that are planned at different theme parks!

Also made the drive this weekend with my daughter to do Kingda Ka. She just passed the 54” height requirement so it was her first time and her 42nd credit!

The line looked long, but it was actually only 40-50 minutes (and that includes 10-15 minutes pauses to occasionally swap out a train or some other maintenance). The ops were amazing, not only working fast but pushing folks to hussle unloading and loading. It was my first time at SFGA, we were planning to go next year (and still might, since we missed El Toro), but had to make the special trip to not miss Kingda Ka.

100% agree. The ride ops on KA were hustling yesterday!!! Some of the best I've seen at any park all year.

I'm so happy you two got your last rides! Kingda ka was very problematic when I went to take my final rides, so I only got to ride once. It went down at 5 and never reopend that night. On top of that it was operating off and on the hole day

I went to ride Ka a few weeks ago after the rumors of it closing started going around, and it broke down on me several times while waiting in the station. I can see why they probably want to get rid of the maintenence headache. I just hope they do something like TT2 where they keep the tophat and at least some kind of launch for whatever replaces it

@drpenguin57 Unfortunately , I doubt they will. They removed the sign for zoomandaro, and they probably would keep that with the top hat. Also, with the things going on with tt2, and cedar fair swearing off anything that wrongs them, I just see them tearing it down.

Fun story, i have been on a roller coaster that bangs your head worse the lantern. it was called the J2 in Clementon Amusement Park in Clementon NJ. I took a girl there on a date, we watched people getting off holding their heads and complaining, i just thought they were wimps. until we got on it, when we got off, i felt nausea and a massive headache, it was really bad. I have ridden Lantern, and while rough and a bit of banging, not as bad as J2.

It is truly sad if it goes, ill wait out and see what happens but i was also supposed to be there on Sunday and something came up at work. Would have had a chance to meet you guys. Keep up the videos, always good to watch you guys on your adventures.

I’m more sad for her than anything! 😢 We were lucky to come up in a time of super crazy intense coasters. I think that trend is over forever… the GP just does not like them too intense. We were lucky to enjoy these rides while we could! 🤘

the queue was actually only like 30 minutes even when it was all the way to the exit. they were operating it really well.

I agree about the head banging on green lantern. It's probably my least favorite coaster for that reason. I'm able to ride it more comfortably if I force my head forward away from the restraints but it's still not a great experience

I hope my son and I have the same relationship as you guys when he's older... he's 4... coaster count... 3... haha. I'm really hoping next year we can expand beyond Trailblazer and Cocoa Cruiser. (Big Bear Mountain was his 3rd and he loved that thing.. the perfect family coaster).

Hershey might have the better package if Kingda Ka is gone. Ka, El toro, Jersey Devil, Nitro, Superman flight vs Wildcats revenge, Skyrush, Storm runner, Candymonium, Fahrenheit

Only candymonium, Sooperdooperlooper, cocoa cruiser, Laff trakk, wild mouse, and Wild cat’s revenge are open during Christmas time.

Yeah, Six Flags great adventure is like no phones even with zippered pockets anywhere even though it’s kind of annoying when the park is at full capacity and you’re standing in line you can’t even have your phone

I SAY...... WELCOME BACK THE RMC VERSION OF ROLLING THUNDER!!!! Coming to Great Adventure in 2026!!!! A taller, faster and longer version of defunct Rolling Thunder with dueling racing cars and steel track!! THUNDER AND LIGHTNING to be the name to pay tribute to Lightning Racer at Hershey (This will replace El Toro eventually since i don't see it lasting much longer with the past problems it's had)

I don't trust Ryan's assessment of rides. Nitro is a great B&M hyper, maybe second to Diamondback, Mako might be a better ride but I like the setting better on Nitro. Batman and Lantern are both great rides, I turtle all otsr, probably making the difference. I rode El Toro earlier this year and thought it was one of the roughest I've ever ridden, (maybe Mean Streak was worse). I love the layout and actually think it would be a fantastic GCI Titan Track hybrid conversion. Kingda Ka is rough. It's sad for it to end, but definitely time. I know the locals love the Golden Kingdom, but you have to believe with all that space there's going to be something special. It may come over the period of several years like Kings Dominion's Jungle X-pedition, but I think in the end it will be great.

NO the hell it wont CF has destroyed great adventure PERIOD!!!!! most of the B&M stand ups are rough, some are worst than others, from the once shockwave, Iron wolf, Mantis to Riddler and the Georgia scorcher, all can be head baggers but if you know how to ride them, you wouldn't have any problem. I lot of people of are very disappointed that king da ka closing, it was a world record, an iconic and CF didn't like the fact that King da Ka snatched the title away from TTD. You may say it was rough but, TTD was a little shaky to however, it was good that they didn't have the shoulder harness, Stealth at thorp park is also rough so is storm runner.

It's all rumor, but the various content creators say they have credible sources. As for the reason, Ka has high insurance and maintenance costs compared to other coasters. Plus Top Thrill was obviously a mess for Cedar Point, and now they're together in the same company.
