I am a conservative, I don't like and hate all the woke and DEI stuff, but am i with the few people who don't care about this "woke" problem ? Straight Henry is cannon, you don't even have to do nor watch the gay scenes (from what i've heard) You can totally play the game without doing the gay stuff and skip all, so why are people bothering so much about this ? There are dozens of games where this stuff is non skippable, forced and here we are debating and fighting for something people don't even have to do. It is crazy seeing some of my favorite KZbin channels attacking the game so much. I understand the fear behind their new Publisher with all the DEI, Blackrock stuff but c'mon, so far, from all we have seen KCD 2 is not even close to being woke.

I used to be super against when i was young, now the older you get the more you see that the majority of people just wanna live their lives in peace. Thanks for your video, man. I'm a devout catholic and KCD1 is my favorite game of all time. I think I have to insist a little on the idea that KCD1 is kind of a christian game. Warhorse really insisted on the extreme historical accuracy and medieval bohemia was very christian so there was no other way around it. So in turn, the game is christian, in the same way as Bohemia was christian, if that makes sense. Not everyone in medieval bohemia was a good christian, right? Not everyone plays KCD1 in a very christian way. But the overwhelming christianity is still there. One of the things I love the most in this game is how it deals with the concept of sin. Many players could play a degenerate Henry and never think twice about the christian elements. But me, for example, could notice the little details. Henry can do all the stuff he needs to do through the story and be in touch with his spirituality and God. KCD1 deals with the concept of sin in a very catholic way. Henry sins and, as far as my perception goes, is still christian and accepts his own errors. KCD reinforces the idea of how we are all sinners and none of us deserve God's Grace, but we should still thrive to be graceful. Plus, we can also mention how it even feels like the game shows (valid) criticism of the Catholic Church but in a very neutral way, almost pro Catholicism. The Monastery mission reminds us of how the Church did massive work on knowledge preservation. They could have even went the easy way and show how evil and inhumane the inquisition was but when the inquisitor actually shows up, you can actually get an ending where Johanka isn't even punished. Then there's the marketing of KCD2 and those big images of the main characters with the text "Jesus Christ be praised" and then there's the big reveal in Kuttenberg Cathedral, out of all plces. I know Vavra said explicitly that this isn't a christian game. So I might be hitting my head against a wall. The author said it, that's all there is to it right? But I don't know why I can't agree. Maybe it isn't christian but, and I am probably wrong, but to my perception KCD is at least pro-christian. Vavra and Warhorse also pandered as some kind of beacon of light in the darkness of the modern video games industry, they were "based" and almost "rad trad", but suddenly with the recent leaks, it feels like "ah not really". I mean, I am a little dissapointed, maybe I'm just looking for hopium. But yeah, I kind of am way more on your side, than on the side of all those people that are now against Warhorse. I have criticisms of the reveals of the last few days, but Vavra and Warhorse created KCD, a game that pretty much changed me and my view of life. They still have my support and I still am very excited about this sequel.

To me a Christian game is like over pandering to the Christian faith which to me KCD never did but it show a lot of the historical accuracy of the faith in medieval Bohemia. And it gets a little harder when trying to explain my thought process in a non native language. But in the end, I think I remain on Warhorse's side. However an optional romance that you have to go out of your way for and not only that fits the historical accuracy theme that warhorse nails (which yes there was gay people in Bohemia at those times). @celticreviews3899 no ones arguing that gay people didn't exist back then. But historically, going back to the first game, Henry is not gay nor bi. This is the only issue I have with the game. Optional or not it simply isn't true to the character. Plus, it goes against everything warhorse said 8 years ago before the release of the first game. Like what good is the lore of something if you just change it at the drop of the hat? Why bother getting invested at all? Defending small retcons like this is how you get the death of a franchise. Starwars is a great example. Dragon age, Spiderman, the last of us 2, etc. Historical accuracy should be played on the probability of Henry running into a black man, or suddenly deciding to be gay or bi. The probability for both to happen realistically is zero.

I’d rather see what people say after the game is released. There’s nothing stopping anyone from just buying the game if they’re wrong, which is one reason why there’s nothing wrong with the criticism. People can wait 7 days and listen people who play it, what it is. I think that biggest issues some people will have will be: 1. Combat (skill issues) 2. Saving system (we had same in KcD 1... People who played it know, people who didn't play it will find it in hard way 😅)...i see it as intereting mechanic 😂 3. Crafting mini games (skill issue) 4. Shepherd side quest and perhaps one legitimate criticism as 5. Hit box on smaller animals is horendous 😂😅 (killing sheep or dog/wolf is ANNOYING)

Yeah it’s all just overreaction. Musa character could exist in medieval times and his remarks in the leaked dialogue is just like every npcs talk- he boasts about something and whether it’s true or not is for us to decide. And about Henry it’s more complicated. Yes CM before KCD1 released stated that he is straight but as far as I can tell he might have not known about character development in the future. Furthermore KCD1 action takes place in a rural area in the span of few weeks and before that Henry just lived in one village, he didn’t know a lot of people. Later he experienced traumatic scenes with his parents death and he lost his homestead and everything he knew so it also may affected his character in many ways. And lastly same sex romance in KCD2 is only optional- that doesn’t mean he canonically was bisexual. His choices are only up to us. It supposedly will be resolved in historical manner so if we choose to follow this romance path we could face some repercussions (because of medieval society’s stance towards homosexuality). If anyone wants to discuss it feel free to do so. I think it’s just a huge drama out of nothing it won’t be another Veilguard where political correctness themes are forced upon us.

Yeah the whole thing is way overblown. I think as others have expressed the inclusions might have been publisher-led, but at the end of the day getting one's tendies in twist over an optional romance no one is obligated to take and one Poc NPC who they provide a reasoned backstory to is just all sorts of REE. The game looks solid, previews have been super positive. A lot of people openly admit they can't put it down because its just that good. The idea that this is in any way going to be a shit show of DEI in the same vein as Veilguard or AC Shadows is ludicrous. The same people Reeing about this are also the same ones, who more than happily threw cash at Hogwarts Legacy to give a middle finger to the Woke Crowd, ignoring the fact that Portkey Games still stuffed HW full of Woke pandering talking points, from absurd levels of diversity through to an openly trans character running the wand shop.

The devs confirmed henry to be "straight white and male" in their own words 8 years ago. This is the same as 40k adding female custodes. You cant compare fallout 4 or Mass effect to KCD or the witcher because in KCD you are playing as Henry, who already has established lore. To change this would also imply that sexuality is a choice which I personally think is insulting. KCD2 is just like Elton john suddenly say he is straight or bi now. Straight don't have any gay thought, no thought = no option suddenly pop in their head. You would never seen a gay Geralt, gay Arthur Morgan and gay John Marston. Gay option choice pop in their mind just broke this character immersive for me. If guy has gay option thought, that means he is not straight, that means some how Henry is mutated to bi now. The devs already said Henry is Straight 8 years ago, now they just made a retcon. Arthur, Geralt, John are prescribed characters. Arthur and John aren't even real role-playing characters. Henry, on the other hand, can be shaped however you want. no matter if he is a murderer or a thief or a nice knight. you could do something with women or not. now you get another option. Isn't the great thing about a role-playing game how many different options there are? my henry is my henry and your henry is your henry. every henry is different.
