This comment should have 30k likes. That person who some 20 years ago came with the concept of "build" destroyed gaming forever. People no longer want to enjoy the game, they want to break it with bugs and exploits and run through it as quickly as possible. No wonder this gen suffers an epidemic of ADHD. Why use your brain when some youtuber can use it for you.

I can't encourage this enough. My guide content will be geared towards explaining mechanics..I shan't be doing any build, quest, or like... Do this first type of content unless it's to tell people about game options or stuff that you have to work around. The best part about this game is the exploration. I'm at 2:50. You literally gave a TLDR at the beginning and told your viewers they're welcome to fuck off if they want (albeit a little more polite than that lol). What this does is give the watcher a complete overview of what the content of the video will be, and letting them decide if it's something they're interested in, or if they event want you to elaborate on the basic points. A viewer who would click off at that point, would have clicked off of your video ANYWAYS, but it shows respect and good faith towards the viewer and for that, you've gotten a sub. I don't even know what your channel is about, but I do know that you're the kind of content creator I'm willing to give my time to. A rare sight in a sea of clickbait titles and thumbnails, super drawn out second halves of videos to extend the length after they've drawn you in, and other manipulative tactics. Bravo.

I bought KCD 1 after getting hyped for KCD 2. It was a hard sell at first, the combat mechanics were really frustrating and lock picking was enough to make my hair pull itself out. But I persevered and honestly, as the game progressed I found myself liking the game more and more. Lockpicking became a breeze and I was fighting groups of 5-6 enemies single-handedly and putting the manners on them without any potions. I still suck at archery though. I ended up finishing the game after about 140hrs of gameplay and was sad to do so. I wanted more. That for me is a measure of how good that game was - and I can't wait for KCD 2.
@gustavotriquiКүн бұрын
KCD1 is specially tough at the start because not only the combat system is quite difficult and different to what most of us are used to in other game, it's also that Henry is a complete inept at the begining, by design, to fit the lore. So at the start you have to face both your own incompetence with the controls, and the fact that even if you knew what you were doing with the controls, Henry still does not react properly because he is the son of a peasant with exactly zero combat experience who suddenly find himself in the middle of a war against opponents who are actually trained warriors far better than him.

@HollowBagel8 күн бұрын
@ Almost every single channel I have seen talking about the drama when it comes up in my search results, is a career ragebaiter feeding on the culture wars and woke outrage to farm clicks and views from an impressionable and increasingly radicalized portion of the right wing. They do this by using incredibly sensationalized language in the title and thumbnails, even if the content of the video has little or nothing to do with what they claim it is. I've achieved all trophys, except merciful, but have started a new playthrough to do so. I totally understand the general frustrations related to KCD1, but the enjoyment I got when I mastered hardcore mode and all neg perks was unparalleled to other gaming experiences (archery as an example). I'm really looking forward to KCD 2 and all it has to offer. So pleased speech has been reviewed, this was by far the hardest perk to max out and was a real point of frustration as it had no trainers and took hours to max (hardcore numbskull and this was pure torture).

Its a pretty janky game. Obviously, the longer you play and get used to it you can maybe look past that, but nonetheless it is pretty janky. Late game combat is a lot of standing around and waiting for the enemy to swing because master strikes were way too strong for both you and the enemy. Its almost impossible to use combos since they'll constantly master strike or perfect parry you. I still loved the game, but it definitely had its faults and its no surprise that it doesn't click with everyone.
@GreyOrGray48 күн бұрын
@@macman32579 I imagine its more to do with the combat. Once you and enemies know how to master strike, its mostly just standing around waiting for them to hit you. Master strikes were way too op for both you and the enemy, and I'm glad that they're changing that for the second game.

Man how I long for a modern UO experience. I know Outlands is out there but I just want a new UO type game (that can still be top down) but in a modern engine. -- I know this video is about KCD but you just got my brain rolling on UO. 😄

Well in my case I make guides teaching people how to play games. Makes sense for a high barrier of entry... But I think they want to expand their reach because content creators are basically free marketing and it's a smaller company

I wouldn't call Warhorse a small company these days, considering the group they now belong to. And their 250+ studio isnt small either. Very excited for KCD2.@@italianspartacus

I didn't play the first one but with everything I'm seeing and hearing about this I'm stoked. Nothing against fantasy RPG's with magic but I've always been interested in historical realism and real world settings. This period of European history fascinates me and I can't wait to experience it.

Bought KCD1 straight back in the day and finished it the first time a week ago thanks to the clunkiness at first and going through two pc:s after. Found a save last spring that was some 250 hours in and decided to tackle it. Combat was still somewhat jarring but at least the bows were somewhat fixed and after ditching shield with swords the game got better. Still using a shield with mace though.. Looking forward to two and probably after completing it before DLC hit, starting the first all over again as having had mod for saving previously the achievements of early game didn't stick.

I can't wait to play KCD2. I've got 400 hours in KCD1 and 100 of that has been in the past month finishing off an old completionist run and starting a new run. I also bounced off of the combat in KCD1, but I got around it by going very heavily into archery. So far, the only way I've killed Runt is by shooting him in the face. In my new run, I have FINALLY grokked combat, thanks to That Other Gamer's awesome insight into perfect blocks. I still can't pull off a combo in KCD1, however. 😂

I'm also extremely excited about playing it completely blind. I never could with the first one because I had such a rough time with combat I immediately turned to guides just to try to figure out what the hell I was doing wrong.

I played Red Dead Redemption 2 once it came out, completed it, loved the story, and never touched it again. I still never want to play it again, I find the game too annoying. It's not the realism that bothers me because I love realism in games, it's the fact that the systems are so hard-coded into a "right" way to play and a "wrong" way to play. I love KCD 1 because the game is realistic, but there is no singular "right" way to play it. To use your example of bumping someone and then getting a bounty put on you in RDR2, in KCD1 I would have had the chance to talk the guard down and explain why I didn't do anything wrong, pay a fine, go to jail, or just run away and avoid the town for a couple of days until everyone forgets the bounty exists. I love that KCD 2 is more refined and accessible, but if you truly love it then I recommend revisiting KCD 1 also. While cruder and less polished, most of the same mechanics exist in both games. If you gained an appreciation for the KCD way of playing by the end of your KCD 2 review, it would be awesome to revisit the original and see how you feel about it now.

Are you still playing Ultima Online? I’m currently playing on the UO Outlands server while waiting for the gold version of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, which I’ve preordered. I can’t help but imagine-what if a new Ultima Online were made with the depth and realism of KCD2? That would be my dream game.

Refreshing to see a KCD2 vid that understands those of us that didn’t get the hype of KCD1… so many other reviewers out there don’t understand that some of us don’t want to dedicate time or even have the time to dedicate to learning and pushing through the sometimes boring and frustrating jank of the first game! Other people are always making me feel crazy for not LOVING KCD1 and not dropping everything to go play through it right now before KCD2 releases. Thank you, fantastic review that details so many exciting improvements from the first game!!!
