Re:Wild it makes more sense in the Japanese version. Mickey used a specific word that meant resemble not like. So in the Japanese version he basically said that aqua resembles Sora. Mostly likely in inner and mental strength. But Riku took it as appearance wise, and thought Mickey said that Aqua looked like Sora.

About the Mickey and Riku conversation concerning Aqua and Sora: In the Japanese Mickey used the word 似てる (niteru). That got translated and localized to "like," (as in, "She's like Sora") but I think in this case "She resembles Sora" would have worked better. Since 似てる (niteru) can mean that someone "looks like" someone else or that two things are "alike" in some way. In English, resemble really captures that double meaning. So yeah, in the Japanese, Riku's mind assumed that Mickey's use of 似てる (niteru) was "like" as in "looks like," which is why he freaks out so much, because Sora and Aqua don't look alike at all. Then Mickey clarifies that he meant that they were "alike" on a personality type level and that cleared up Riku's confusion. The joke/meaning of this exchange kinda got lost in translation due to poor localization though.

Now in Advent Children, he literally just lost Aeris, had a part in her death or at least that's what he believes. The man had gone through so much and lost his mother, his mentor/friend and someone he loved. He watched the burning of his village at the hands of Sephiroth but because Shinra screwed him over, her barely has any memories of what really happened. You really expect him to not have any PTSD? His depression stems from the traumatic life events that had occurred.

I was sad riku and mickey didnt get their own stories because they LITERALLY REEXPLORED Aqua's worlds in Kh3 to repeat her steps and find further clues as to how to liberate Aqua.
