this feels wrong... but in such a good way. I honestly laughed at the title in a condescending manner since I felt disappointed with kh3 but got very impressed by the things that were pulled off. certainly a pleasant surprise.

I felt really satisfied with the combat. It is pretty simplistic yes. But it can be a really solid battle system if you master it

@@alexmetaverse I'm just used to a good set of fundamentals and a set of rules in a virtual realm that's apparent in tight knit action games. just for one small example, in kh2 or dmc when you do an air combo, it's a smooth sequence of moves that has flexible timing as you fall slowly at the same time, or at least hover very close to the ground in anticipation for your combo to finish. in kh3, the moves don't feel fluid through out your air combo. each move feels like its completely foreign to the last animation while sora unnaturally jerks into it as he just completely ignores the force of gravity until his combo is all the way over. there's many small things like this that build up and kill the experience for me. but it's not limited to nitpick type stuff like that, I also think the combat system is unrewarding due to the lack differentiation or purpose for all of the options sora has. everything either does the same thing: aoe splash attacks, or not enough of what it does different. in kh2, every tool did something distinct. I'll just explain summons, which are heavily underrated. chicken little is very useful for crowd control early game but doesn't completely become obselete when you get magnet, genie has multiple forms that have unique properties which supports choosing other forms than final depending on the situation to rack up damage, stitch helps support a full magic build, etc. the same thing applies in dmc3, you really have to contemplate between certain styles or weapons before a mission because whatever you choose heavily affects your gameplay. the difference between the extremely precise and risky royal guard and the aggressive and spammy swordmaster is great and really is dependent on your strengths and weaknesses as a player and the situation at hand. these observations make these games seem complex but they're just focused and still pretty simple. sorry if what you said didn't need such a long response, it's your right to like kh3's combat but I just wanted to explain myself further and I love discussing things like this.

@@mogul2962 I Know my comment is a year late but kingdom hearts 2 only has two different utilities firaga and stitch everything else is never changed or used reflect is optional.kingdom hearts 2 suffers from stationary combat when in the air or on the ground you are stuck in a loop you can not change what you are doing in combat.Air combat in kingdom hearts 2 is pointless why have air combos when they are never experimented with. Kingdom hearts 2 drives are also pretty useless except master form , then there's final forms problem it is situational but it's physical attack strings are too long at least 15secs long it's only used in magic runs. Kingdom hearts 3 introduced stored cross over form combos which kingdom hearts 2 lacked.Each key form in kingdom hearts 3 changes gameplay styles which can change how magic behaves such as gunner form allowing to shoot from long range attacks magic changes to bullet type also ,a shield form to gain invincibility by perfect guarding against all damage from all sides, a speed form for light speed attacks the abilities of speed form varies by keyblade,Power form this also has varied abilities from what keyblade has it,Final ultimate form this includes keyblades oathkeeper,Oblivion, and ultima weapon the abilities to duel-wield keyblades or plain use ultima sword itself these abilities also vairy do not get me started on shotlocks.Kingdom hearts 2 lacked the allowance of combat creativity which kingdom hearts 3 has kingdom hearts 2 has only 3 viable options throughout the game you can not be creative with them since everything is an automatic skill when you use it you can not experiment in kingdom hearts 2 combat system however kingdom hearts 3 allows to be creative while kingdom hearts 2 does not while in the air combat of kingdom hearts 3 you are invincible you can not die since you have a full move set in mid-air unlike in kingdom hearts 2.Kingdom hearts 3 while in air you can cheese the game that's how broken air combat is in kingdom hearts 3.

KH2 is a fantastic action game (one of my personal favorites) but the combat didn't exactly let you do creative and cool looking combos which is most of what donguri posts. KH3 introducing weapon swapping and having a bigger emphasis on aerial combat makes it so even just fighting a punching bag like in this video can be entertaining to watch. Basically point being I wouldn't really compare them. His KH2 videos are fun if you wanna see really good no damage runs of bosses, but they aren't really stylish in the same way this is.

Kingdom hearts 3 is extremely easy, even on hard. Most enemies will die with just spamming the same buttons, and the game kinda encourages you to do so. This is probably on the newly added "Critical Mode" update.

you have the stats and equipment and items as an rpg would have, but the combat has you using different attacks, manuevers and magic to control the fight. In some of the more recent games, you have moves like the shot lock which can work as either a rush attack or a rapid fire projectiles, flow motion which uses acrobatics and as of kh3, keyblade transformations which can change your fighting style which each form change.

It really doesnt. Large bodies are literally combo food because of how the game is designed. you and the enemy can stay in the air for a super long time. This videos is very creative but doing your own combos isnt that execution heavy here

I think the main reason he’s using large bodies is just because they have so much health he can really whack them for a long time and make big combos. but yeah this game is fun but it’s not as hard to do cool stuff as like KH2 which from an accessibility standpoint is fine but it was just a bit more satisfying feeling to me personally with kh2’s combos. I think part of it was animations cause kh2’s attack animations just felt a lot more snappy and quick so it looks cleaner This game did do a really really good thing by adding weapon switching, which as shown here lets you do really fun stuff with the weapon switches, but I think the main thing that bugs me about this game is just how sluggish a lot of animations for attacks feel. Certain things like the storm flag feel amazing but then like especially the standard ground and aerial finishers just feel a bit wrong. tighter animations just feel a lot better even if it doesn’t change much and I think that’s why so many people praise KH2 because it has really good animation

@@perkypears the health bar is an added factor but I also believe its cause of the size of the large body. I like to do some keyblade switching combos sometimes and you almost cant even miss with how easy they are to hit compared to the other enemies. In KH2 there are in between transitions to each swing sora has that makes it look much smoother and snappier (theres more to it than that though)

Another little nitpick I have too is that certain things are rng based like which -za spell you’ll get or if you’ll get a formchange prompt or something which really hurts the ability to do certain consistent combos because sometimes the game will just hate you and not give you the attack you wanted
