Fun fact, 358 is the only KH that was COMPLETELY written by Nomura, word per word. We'll never have anything like that anymore because he said it was too much work, but it is such a fresh breath of air to have the script being tightly written.

I really liked re:coded for its stat matrix. I really enjoyed being able to mess with the difficulty at any point, increase item drop rate in exchange for less max hp, being able to reduce you and every enemy to 1 HP.

Plus the command attacks are usually way more practical to use than in BBS and the fact that they can be repeatedly melded and leveled up till its level gets sky high is.. well admittedly it’s excessive, but cool in its own way, and encourages players to pick a favorite. (My favorite, by the way, is Flame Fall, its animation is so cool)

When it came to the Final Mix, I was so disappointed that they didn’t give us the full remake of 358/2 Days instead they gave us a fricking HD Movie. 358/2 Days was by far one of my favorites in the franchise since this game was released during my highschool years back in the 2010’s and good lord did it bring me out of a massive art block with it’s main story an even more lore on certain characters!

Days was my first Kingdom Hearts game. Had no idea who the hell Sora was, just like Roxas, so I was very immersed story wise with his confusion. Hell, I cousin find my copy of the game a few months ago and panicked so hard (I’ve had since the month it was out) I went and bought a new copy on Amazon with the og manual. the thing that kinda threw me off about the project is that in the video or the description he claimed he'd be able to complete the project in less than a year... alone.....best of luck and that would be awesome, but that kinda convinced me he's really underestimating it

This game and recoded are the epitome of a fucking nightmare to 100%. You literally have to play practically perfect. One mistake and you have to restart the mission in days or a restart the sector in recoded all over again. Days also gave the worst 100% game awards of any KH game. You get a ring and the ultima weapon panel which are completely worthless. The ultima one maxes your strength, but when you get it, it has literally no purpose. The ring I think nullifies all magic damage but when you whiff or miss a hit you get damaged. And it has another debuff that makes it so you can't heal at critical HP. Probably the dumbest accessory idea in existence. I might be wrong, but I think that the JP version of days only requires the sigils to 100%. The JP version does not have a solo mission mode option

this literally happened already. like 7 years ago. the promise of some 358/2 days fan remake and a little trailer that showed how cool it could be. one cease and desist later and the hype was dead. idk maybe it's different now with the idea of it just being an emulator mod and the creator (hopefully) not asking for donations, but we'll see.

I still hold out hope that square will rerelease Days (and Re:Coded). I heard recently that they had originally planned to have Days playable in the original 1.5 collection but scrapped it due to time constraints or something

I have looked into this mod before and it's promising. I hope more people can help out with it and probably add Marluxia's and Larxene's nobodies from KH3. In fact, I trully want to see a community versions of Lexaeus, Zexion, and Vexen nobodies. We never got to see them and probably never will.

I hope they'll make the keyblades and stuff more accessible. That canonicity list was made with a LOT of tears. Also, Xion wielding the same keyblade as you and recolors to yours in the Xion missions would be amazing(Xion wielding the purple version of Missing Ache while Roxas has MA, for example). I headcanon Roxas used Oathkeeper against Sïax and Xion used Oblivion against Axel, so some Xion missions would be nice too.

​​@Xeno_Solarus It's a bit clunky yeah, but the game as a whole is slower paced so it works out. Not as good as the mainline games, but it works as it's own thing. The biggest annoyance to me is the camera control, if it had a better camera (and no stealth missions) it would feel a lot better to play imo. Lock-on means it's fine during combat for the most part, but travelling/exploring is a pain.

Regarding a secret boss, hear me out... A hidden mission that revolves around you (Roxas) fighting Sora during Kingdom Hearts 2. Sora would have all of his powers and abilities from the game, and at a third of his health, would pop into Limit Form, restoring his health and replacing his moveset with the slower, but more powerful Limit moveset, and eventually youd beat him, giving an exclusive custom cutscene of Roxas taking over Soras body to return to his mission of destroying the Organization.

I feel like most people dont understand days gameplay but the magic system is really in depth. Only issue is that you can only use 1 magic spell at a time because ds limitations. Roxas movement also becomes goated as you go through the game and i wish future games got a challenge mode like days had

I think a remake in the current saga still works cause we really don't know much about the backstory of luxord, demyx, marluxia, and larxene in the way of how they ended up there. A remaster with some extended scenes and new special reports could deepen the lore while providing clues to their relevence to the new saga or at least why they were there.

@@padmescurl honestly demyx is the most interesting. He seems like a average person who ended up there but he also has the strength of heart to become a nobody of that calibur. He would hide behind this cowardly bravado but did more footwork for the organization accross multiple world in kh2 than we see from the others but buckles in kh3 when he knows he will die in the final fight so he switches sides and is instrumental in the defeat of xeanort as well as the return of roxas and namine(if memory serves). He has definitely been left as an ambiguous character intentionally and will probably be incredibly relevant in the next saga.

The issue with this is KH3 kinda depends on everything being what it was. This means expanding on these characters can have dire consequences as they are walking through a retcon minefield. We saw the effects BBS had on KH3 by effectively introducing a bunch of characters as hyper important without foreshadowing prior to the point where a character joked about not knowing who these people are. Literally this is like playing with fire near flammable containers with explosive gases. We'd be better off exploring these characters through something entirely new.

Also while yes there is a possibility for retcons on marluxia and larxene, we still don't know about how they got there. Union cross is to recent for them to change anything and there is essentially nothing as far as info goes for demux and luxord. So if we got an explaination of how those 4 ended up in the organization and we don't have that information to begin with then how is it a retcon minefield?

Aww, I love this game so much. 💕 It was my first KH game and I am currently working on 100%-ing it. I honestly really liked the gameplay, being forced to do missions every day made it really seem like you were one with Roxas, and you could feel his disappointment when no one showed up at the clock tower. hey! I personally liked recoded! I mean, it had to relevance to the main arc of kingdom hearts whatsoever, but if it's narrative was divorced from anything kingdom hearts, it would have made a fun story. About a magical book telling the tales of a hero, but a mysterious force is trying to mess with the story, and by the end, the storybooks' villain is threatening to leave the book hurt the real world yet again.

As a person whose first played KH game was 358/2 days (I watched someone on youtube play KH2 since I couldnt afford a PS2) This is my absolute favorite KH story. I was a little disappointed the rerelease was only cutscenes as a lot of the story was in the small dialogue and journals. Admittedly the game plays like a truck in comparison to DDD. If we do get an official Days or UX/Dark Road remake I hope that it is on a similar scale as that of Final Fantasy VII Remake. At the very least with 358/2 Days we can experience the story through the HD cutscenes they included in the 1.5 Remake. UX is arguably a much more crucial story and it is still limited in accessibility to a mobile phone game (if you don't count Back Cover which leaves out... a lot) so having that expanded to an actual full scale game like BBS or KHIII would be awesome to see.

Is that coming at the cost of the KH1 worlds that they won't be able to implement though? I assume that's still a major limitation for KH2 mods, though at least some have managed to add Traverse Town somehow (though not sure if the entire world or just First District).

I wouldn't take that footage as gospel for any KH2 worlds being in the final product. The hack is clearly still in beginning stages and testing out characters in KH2 worlds as placeholders is easier

Days has probably the weakest gameplay in the series, but I think at least part of it came down to limitations of the system it was on. The story also hits harder when it's interspersed between sections of gameplay rather than simply watching the cutscenes back to back as a movie. Playing it felt like a job, but that was the whole point because it was about Roxas working for the Organization. I understand why they didn't give Days a full remake at the time, because they were already busy remaking the first Kingdom Hearts in 1.5, but I don't think Days deserves to still be shoved in the corner relegated to being just a cutscene movie.

358/2 days was the first Kingdom Hearts game that I got my hands on and I got this for Christmas the year it was released. This game deserves a remake because for the few who got to experience and play as Roxas (Sora's nobody) and learn a bit more about Roxas and Organization XIII and the things that occurred from the ending of KH1, through all COM to before the beginning KH2. Heck, the sea salt trio is my favorite trio due to all the BS the three of them have to go through and how their friendship form, however, I am happy to see them all together in KH3.

A lot of people love RE:Coded and I’d argue it has the best command deck gameplay. The issue is the story wasn’t really relevant outside the final chapter making it a lesser discussed title.

People like re-coded combat more than days. As someone who grew up with both, recoded was more replayable and enjoyable. Coded has excellent story but once you finish it there's no reason to go back because even at higher levels the combat is choreish.

As much as I like 358/2 Days, I never got to play the game on DS. So, maybe it's why I'm not as mad that we're not ever gonna have a official remake. On the other hand, with X and Ux... *I f√¢king NEED it!* On Unreal Engine 4!! I wanna relive the Ux story but as a proper KH console game. What would be cool is if Square's initial plans of having a gameplay feature where you can command Nobodies be made possible in this KHDFM. It's hard to imagine that being naturally implemented but always wondered what that was supposed to look like.

Oh my godd pleas dont play with me. Roxas is my spirit animal,and Days is my favorite in the series,besides DDD. This was mechanically one of the most complex titles, besides Re:Coded And y'all can fight me on that all day, but on the hardware it was limited to it was extremely impressive. But the most mind-boggling part was definitely the multiplayer, and a huge missed opportunity by SE to create some kind of online KH game. Same with Nintendo how they're messing out largely by not bringing Prime Hunters to modern consoles. 😮‍💨🤦🤷 But this is an absolute dream to behold. Please let this be true! I'll be rooting for this project! 🙏🎮🕹️💜💯

Man, I get that Days' physics were clunky by KH standards, but I loved the _buildcraft_ it brought to the series: Every weapon had its own moveset Y-combos gave you a reason not to button mash Limit Breaks and Final Limits gave us even more options _Those first three points were true for every single character in the game_ Block, dodge, and jump commands could all be altered Spells and rings allowed you to mess around with tons of different status effects Each spell level had a different hitbox/projectile behavior Even if O'Shinobi ditches the panel system in favor of KH2's character menus, I hope they keep the ability to _personalize your character build_ this way using AP. Days was my gateway into buildcraft games like Warframe, and it's tied with Birth By Sleep's Command/Style system in terms of flexibility. It'd be a shame for the remake to lose that.

"Limit Break" is my favorite part of days ... Having "Form change" that triggered when the HP bar low instead of conditional like Sora does ... It remind us that Roxas and friends ARE boss-fight enemies that gone into desperate mode when the HP is low ... I kinda disappointed Roxas in KH3 can "Form change" anytime he want instead of "Limit Break" ...

Want an updated gameplay, but most of all MULTIPLAYER!! Playing as the other members of the organization was fun, but very hard to do since it was made for multiplayer and the DS required local for the most part.
