It occurred to me this time through that nobody congratulates Aqua at all on her pretty monumental achievement, being the youngest keyblade master in ages. I get that Ven and Terra are close and Terra's upset he didn't get it, that's completely understandable. It just rankles a bit that they don't even try to be happy for their other best friend.

Right? I think this is one of those big cultural disconnects, where from the Japanese perspective, it'd be "improper" for the focus to be on her individual success when the rest of her group has failed. Add in that she's the girl from an overwhelmingly sexist culture, so she's supposed to be more concerned with helping her male friends. The result is that Ven and Terra can come off as quite selfish.

Or perhaps it's their specific keyblades. The keyblades form the Land of Departure transform into vehicles because they have that insight there or something. They are also to-be Keyblade Masters, which are keyblade wielders, but refined and purified. Thus the reason for having keyblade vehicles and the armour. At least, that's what I've come up with.

@Dan here's a tip to alleviate your suffering with Terra's speed: Use Ventus' D-Link. Like, all the time. The upgraded Ventus D-Link has a Haste ability that makes you move and attack faster, and its the best thing for Terra (and even Aqua)

Aqua's is way better for certain bosses, especially this first one, as it likes to jump around and keep you away.

I like how just before you start hitting the orbs, the camera lingers on Ventus for a few moments before switching to Terra, as if the game forgot you're not playing as Ven anymore. The third chair would've been occupied by Yen Sid? That would've looked pretty weird. Was this ever mentioned in the Ventus part of the game? I don't recall it, but I did wonder who that third chair was for. "You cannot tell anyone there are other worlds." Eraqus never told Ven that. They're awfully lucky he never blurted it out to anyone, at least anyone where it'd make a difference. Well, with the exception of Scrooge, but Scrooge started it by telling HIM he's from another world. These other two are also lucky they landed in isolated places, considering the earthquakes, loud sounds, and bright lights that happen when they enter. Or is Terra's arrival in Enchanted Dominion an exception? So, does anyone know if you can play multiplayer with the Command Board? It looks like something that could work, if not meant for multiplayer (certainly, Fortune Street was designed for multiplayer), and it feels like a waste to have only computer players as opponents. Why does Maleficent assume Terra is from the castle, astonished that he isnt sleeping? He's approaching the castle from the woods. Does everyone in Enchanted Dominion live in the castle except for Maleficent? Maleficent also doesn't seem bothered at all that Terra took down the barrier to Aurora's room. Then again, maybe that wasn't her barrier and she wanted someone to remove it. Glad to see Disney trivia is back. I remember reading some thoughts from the background artists of Sleeping Beauty, that they felt that the time they sunk into making those backgrounds felt unnecessary because the viewers weren't going to care about the backgrounds much. Maleficent has power over sleep...which she has proceeded to not use in Kingdom Hearts I, II, or Coded. Ventus got a D-Link with a villain--he got one with Vanitas at the end. Though yeah, I did not expect a D-Link with Maleficent. I'm guessing this one is magic oriented and allows Terra to put enemies to sleep? I'm highly amused by the boss Unversed of Enchanted Dominion being an evil animate giant sewing machine. They're as ridiculous as the Heartless bosses. (And some common enemies.)

The command board can be multiplayer if you use the mirage arena. at least it was in the PSP version, they took multiplayer out when they ported it

One thing I really like about Disney’s Sleeping Beauty is how it plays with our knowledge of the original fairy tale by making the three fairies the actual heroes of the story.

I mean, in terms of representation of adult women in Disney animated features, I legitimately can't think of anything better between Sleeping Beauty and...Nani from Lilo and Stitch, maybe? That's more than forty years. That on its own has always made Sleeping Beauty stand out for me, gorgeous animation aside.

I think Encanto would also work, for showing multiple women figures in a three-generation family household with habits that are unhealthy without being toxic even as Mirabel is the focus and Abuela is almost the antagonist and Isabel and Luisa are basically young women in role.

@@bookfan1239 Spoiler Alert: Go back and listen properly to the words Terra says when bequeathing Riku his keyblade. Basically Riku only gets Terras keyblade when he dies or if Terra outright gives it to Riku just like how Aqua gave hers to Terra-nort (kind of the reason she still doesn't have hers in KH3). Yen Sid was a master, however fully gave up using his and gave it to Mickey.

Just wanted to give some appreciation to Carrie for putting up that photosensitivity warning! I don't need the warning, but I know a lot of people do, and it's not something that's always considered, so it's nice to see the thought being put in to make sure everyone can enjoy your content safely! (if only there were subs on all of these vids, but i might try to contribute to solving that particular thing on the rewatch I plan to do later - subs help me understand, but as long as I can replay audio I can understand well enough to add them myself. I've subbed a lot of Red vs Blue episodes on youtube, haha.)

"Restricted" seems like a better term. 16:50: ...Terra came from _outside_ the castle, Maleficent. Isn't it obvious that he's one of those princes that comes to break the curse every so often? (Also wrong, but it shouldn't be surprising that guys come by every so often.) 21:21: "Rule all worlds" isn't a concept that should need explanation, Terra. It means that she rules over all of the worlds. 24:35: Dude, at least buy him dinner first. 5:15: Fanfic idea-in an alternate universe where Ventus escapes Xehanort, he ends up taking the darkness out of Aqua's heart and (after a little temptation) the light out of Terra's, and drives the two of them into conflict to make the χblade...only to be foiled by Aqua's darkness and Terra's light, who are known as...I dunno...Quaia and Riatre? Quada and Aterrel? You'd have to invent some clever naming scheme for those two. 13:30: I know the trees are based on the background art in _Sleeping Beauty,_ but I can't get over how much it makes this look like the Minecraft World of Kingdom Hearts. Wait a second...Maleficent's dragon form looks an awful lot like the Enderdragon...

Timothy McLean regarding Ventus’ knowledge of the paths between the worlds: As I understand it, he’s basically done all the same training as Terra and Aqua, and the only reason he’s not up there doing the mastery exam at the same time as them is Eraqus’ paranoia over the whole X-blade thing.

I swear, Eraqus and Xehanort are horrible sponsors for their preferred magic source, and even worse, know the downfalls of the other. Eraqus is dogmatic about the light, but he is correct that darkness-using individual fall to evil. Meanwhile, Xehanort is Xehanort (and for some reason in English is actually a sponsor for light), but he knows that darkness is just another power source, and for all Xehanort’s faults he knows that you can gain your power from anywhere and not necessarily be a bad person. No wonder why Eraqus and Xehanort are friends; they are both equally dogmatic and fervent, but just with magic sources, and Eraqus think that Xehanort believes in what he believes in.

Also, yeah, it is funny that after Kingdom Hearts I, Ansem, Seeker of Darkness, is basically the darkness within Riku that helps him use his darkness and is actually glad he helped someone used the darkness in Kingdom Hearts 3.

I mean, to be fair, Terra didn’t really have a reason to suspect Xehanort for anything bad. And I doubt these characters are taught to judge people by their looks. I mean, just look at Beast from Beauty and the Beast in previous games. He’s obviously evil to US because the game makes it really obvious. Also, Xehanort caught Terra during a time when he was vulnerable, failing the Mark of Mastery and all. Maybe he could have done a little better, but there’s always an oblivious character in these games.

-yeah, Xehanort being this unapologetically evil really makes everyone seem foolish... and THEN there's Terra!! -yeah Terra's slower movement AND the satisfaction of playing as Lingering Will is why I went with him first -also, I know Maleficent means the spiritual Heart... but I will forever keep the headcanon that she actually wanted Terra to rip Aurora's Organ Heart -I know it would be too much... but I would have liked if Terra got villain themed Keyblades

Terra hits like a freight train,and his magic stat is the worst of the three. His dodge takes him the furthest in the same period of time as everybody else's,but,if I recall,has the fewest iFrames. His melee combos are slower,as well. Stack him up with physical commands,like Strike Raid,Zantsetsuken,and the assorted Strike and Dash commands,and you should be laughing.

My explanation for why they trust Xehanort is that its implied that unlike Star Wars where the Sith/Dark Side of the force is automatically evil and needs to be destroyed, in the Kingdom Hearts universe, they believe in a more proper balance like in Dragonlance. Darkness isn't automatically evil, its just the opposite side of the same coin, so in a way, if Eraqas represents light, they *needed* a master to represent Darkness. And that his dark counternence is just dimissed as appearances/aesthetics due to him delving into the darkness.

The key to keeping Terra fun is to NOT use the extra ability on your evade/slide. It has terrible frames and lag, and the quick change in movement you get from it won't be worth it in the end.

I feel like having Xehanort look like a blatantly-obvious villain who almost no one suspects is a very "classic Disney villain" trope. (Modern Disney/Pixar "twist" villains are meant to be the polar opposite.)

A lot of characters in KH have very weird fashion senses, but aside from Riku's odd strapped-up pant legs, I think Terra and Aqua have some of the weirdest choices. Terra's metal backbrace there can't make combat an easy thing, for example. And Aqua's metal shoe wings have got to get in her way at least sometimes, right?

They are different, Heartless are hearts that fell to darkness and Unversed are negative emotions. As to where the Unversed come from, I will let the game tell you about it.

within the first 10 mins i stand by that going through Terra first is the better route plot wise. you dont find out the mission Eraquis gave Terra and Aqua in Ven's story and then when Terra leaves early you feel I feel the story to stand still and then when Terra fights Eraquis and Ven is seperated the story also takes a halt imo. I would love to see this twitter post you mentioned that days going through Ven's story first is actually better cuz i couldnt find it and I strongly disagree.
