Also, when soras shadow is taken, if you go to other worlds before beating Shadow sora, he still wont have his shadow, it's not exclusive to Neverland, which to me was awesome.

i was wondering about that, i was at the colosseum and i’m doing atlantis cuz i can’t do the shadow sora and i’m like “where’s my shadow?” but i brushed it off as a glitch cuz it’s an older game lol

When you first encounter Darkside, who first appears from Sora's shadow, Sora's shadow is absent from that fight too.

I've always loved the winning against Leon cutscene, since it shows sora wasn't used to real combat yet.

Yeah. While Leon is already an accomplished fighter who has even managed to net some feats under his name, he was clearly pushed back by a complete rookie. Despite the fact he was holding back considerably, it's still kinda neat how Leon buckled down after being ruffled up by Sora's weak strikes. Meanwhile, it took everything Sora had to even make a notable dent on him. Simply love how Sora tries to get some answers out of him, but collapses due to not being used to exerting himself to that extent here.

To be honest, I read it more as the effects of compound exhaustion and dehydration, not inexperience. That Sora fought Darkside, at least seven Heartless, and Squall - and was passed out for an unknown period of time - all without any rest. His body eventually just gave out in a way that no adrenaline dump can ignore.

There is just so much love and detail put into this game. There is even an enemy detail that my friend found on the internet. My friend found a tweet that said... "Very cool little KH1 detail I literally just noticed: Red Nocturnes float high in the air while Blue Rhapsodys float close to the ground because hot air rises and cold air falls." And someone told me this recently that even the Yellow Opera zigzags around the area like an electric current. That's reason number 1001 why KH1 is a masterpiece.

Honestly the lighting and particle effects in kingdom hearts were ahead of their time. They helped make the game so magical in my childhood. I love also in kh1 specifically how when you beat a boss and it goes slowmo at the end, the screen blurs into this unique effect that isn’t replicated in the other games

The worlds in kh1 are my favorite, all those small details and the bonus stuff like the postcards in traverse town and making an ether in deep jungle make them so memorable compared to the other games

Oh you missed one. There's two scene in Monstro involving Riku will changed depending on if you finished Neverland first. If I remember correctly, he also won't help you in the the pre-boss fight.

i remember that, sora goes "liar, you're not Riku" and then he vanishes. I always thought that would be plot relevant later, but it never was.

That fireplace one at the end also has an effect in the first district.... as you can spot the Chimney the Fireplace is apart of from the outside and smoke will be coming out, but only if the Fire is lit.

In Deep Jungle if you bloom all the flowers during the Jane rescue segment with the Black Fruit it will prevent Heartless from spawning and it will grow in size.

I feel like this attention to detail was more important to Kingdom Hearts's appeal than the developers realized. The KH Experience is about traveling to new unknown worlds at its core. I really miss these small environmental moments after the series moved on to focus on combat and long cutscenes instead. KH3 brought it back a little, I hope KH4 focuses more on environmental storytelling too.

This game is full of cool stuff and details even after so many years, about the alternate cutscenes, it 's a pity they were relevant only in this game, kh2 has two of them just for Roxas and BBS only one with Terra

There's a secret you can unlock by putting out all 4 candles at once. You need Blizzaga to pull it off, because if you don't hit all 4 in one blast, the one you didn't hit turns back on.

There are also plenty of other differences and attention to details and alternative cutscenes based on your gameplay. The Disney villains scene after you've stealed your 1st Keyhole, 1st encounter with Pinocchio in either Traverse Town or inside Monstro, dialogue between Sora and Riku being different if he's already possessed or not. The scene with Hades after you've beaten Cerberus the time also changes if Maleficent is still alive or not
