Aww, now I'm sad about Axel again, he deserved better. I just started playing 358/2 too, so I'm getting even more of his & the rest of the Organization's characters. Also I'm a little disappointed they replaced his saying "Roxas!" in his fight with "Sora!"

That Lexaeus battle was awesome. I did all these battles On Critical Lvl 1 And lemme tell you, learning some of them is a real test of patience and execution. You did well. I was waiting for you to learn when to block, when you finally did I cheered. Good show Dan! You're doing a great job!

The rematch with Axel is clearly Roxas' final fight with him except since you're playing as Sora, they've swapped in the voice-line of Axel saying "Sora" from when he helps Sora fight the Nobodies before his death. That's a neat touch.

No final form firaga spam on Vexen, but it was pretty satisfying to see him beaten without it also. Great job dan! Don’t know if it is too much too ask, but I would love to see a section after you have beaten Lingering Will where you speak frankly regarding your opinion of the combat system and the boss design. KH2 is one of a kind after all. Maybe compare to kh1? Loving the episodes. Thank you both :)

I feel like there's a trick to the Power Gauge in the Lexaeus fight that we just didn't learn here and that made him a lot more punishing than he otherwise might have been.

The key to beating Lexaeus is to keep close for the reaction command (the Guardian Soul Keyblade is a massive help here for people without Ultimate Weapon) and spamming Reflect (Which conveniently can also trigger the reaction command). If you can do it aggressively enough then you can kill him before he even maxes out on power.

Every time you fought Vexen I found myself thinking: Shouldn't fire magic do extra damage to him? And if not him at least his shield.

It does, but it requires really precise positioning and it really hampers your mobility unless you're going it in final form.

If you want to shred Vexen to pieces with no effort, use Final form Firaga. One bar of magic does about 6 bars of health. On top of that, Final form Firaga doesn't raise revenge value meaning that if you do it right, with Ethers and such Vexen can never attack you back and you can kill him in 30 seconds. It's cheap but man it's satisfying!

Enjoying the series so far. When you make changes to your skill set you may want to leave the room and come back, because if you are defeated all of your changes are not saved unless you leave the room first (when using the continue option).

A fun trick to try if you ever go back on your own time, but Xigbar's standard shots can easily be moved through with Arial Dodge. Also, just a small thing, but Xigbar isn't the actual second in command of the Organization. Number only denotes the order they joined. Siax is actually the guy in charge of general day to day operations, while Xigbar is more Xemnas' personal right hand man. (Who I'm sure we'll NEVER have to deal with again...)

There's some confusion amongst the Organization members themselves over how significant seniority is within the Organization too. Generally, having been a member longer appears to confer higher effective rank, but Saix has influence out of proportion to his membership rank because of his administrative role - much like the CEO's secretary will have considerable influence in some corporations.

@@Adam-cq2yo The original Prince of Persia is another one -- except in that case, the mirror blocks your path between the switch that opens the exit of level 4 and the exit itself. When you jump at it, you phase through the glass, and your dark side comes out and runs back the way you came. Then if you try to get a certain major potion on level 5, he gets it first; if you try to get to him on level 6, he slams a gate closed in front of you, forcing you to drop into level 7; and on level 12, he obtains a sword of his own to fight you with.

Final Form is strong, but Limit Form is safe. Limit form also has an outrageous damage potential along with healing through lifesteal with the limits. Blending bosses with final form magic isn't really a possibility unless you've grinded out tons of magic boosts.

Final form firaga with Bond of Flame and Fire boost destroys Vexen. Like it’s pretty funny how quick his health goes down. I was hoping Dan had seen that strategy at some point before going into this, but oh well, he still did great.

Here's a good cheese use Donald's limit duck flare with elixirs you have full control stupid dps and invincibility when you use it immediately use an elixir repeat with different timing depending on the boss till it is dead

Funny as for me Roxas is the easiest one of them all. Just got to block that last hit of his combo and hit some back. Xigbar is the other one that's extremely easy for me, final form does some work there as its glide reflects the projectiles and gets you close very fast to unleash all that damage^^

I don't know if anyone told you, but some of these fights work on semi Pokemon rules. Like vexen, being the ice dude, is very weak to fire. Particularly final form fire.

Also, magnet burst is another ability that's only hampering you here. It's meant as a crowd control move for multiple enemies. Having it equipped against single bosses is a mistake.

I take it Axel, in turn, isn't weak to Blizzard? I know in some games, ice hits extra damage against fire-based enemies, but Pokémon's not one of them.

@@Overhazard I said semi Pokemon. Axel is in fact so weak to blizzard that speedrunners equip the mysterious abyss keyblade for its blizzard boost ability, JUST for the Axel fight.

Final form is less safe than limit form, uses 5 gauges instead of 4, (he has a Max of 8 right now,) and necessitates both party members be alive. Donald dies so much in these fights because he doesn't have access to second chance or once more. Limit also lets you heal without draining your whole mana bar because the limits have lifesteal.

To be fair to Final though, your basically invincible for 90% of the time your in it if you spam combos. I've managed to basically spam Final on Lingering Will long enough to actually get to his revenge value, and then stayed in the combo long enough to catch him on the same combo when he came back around to attack me. It's not as consistent as Limit, but it is disgusting how much damage you can pull off with it in these end game fights if you use it right.

Huh, I'm honestly surprised by how little room for cheesing Lexaeus allows. He is one of the, if not the easiest Data boss, but strangely for a full on max level damage tanking approach he isn't very forgiving. That is very surprising.
