Maybe it's the generation, and I'm not even from that era, but it surprises me that people on KZbin always react to the bad remakes. There's a quintessential version of this movie and it was made the same year as another excellent sci fi movie, 2001: A Space Odyssey. The original Planet of the Apes. I know, there's no CGI in it. That might put off the generation that thinks Taylor Swift is better than Dolores O'Riordan of The Cranberries, but that's their problem.
