I mostly agree especially regarding some elements of the plot. Also I wasn’t completely sold on Mae’s character so most of her story wasn’t compelling until the very end.

Ya, I agree. She felt pretty underdeveloped imo. Like she was a protagonist from a different movie being crammed into this one.

Agreed! I thought the movie was solid, a nice return to the franchise, but there were things that could have been done better. I 100% agree with your take on the main villain. Wasted potential!!
