Getting my boy Andy Serkis in the marketing as much as possible is a big deal. Legend! Between how much 20th Century is posting on their KZbin about this movie and with some of the more physical in reality marketing we’re seeing with the apes on horseback on the California beaches, we are in for something good here. You don’t market a movie that much if it isn’t showing promise.

You do realize he is the one who has been doing stop motion in this kind of visual effects since the Lord of the rings movies right? he might not be acting in the movie but he definitely helped with the CGI and stuff because he’s the pioneer. He even says in the video that this franchises important to him he wouldn’t hop on if the movie wasn’t good.

Andy should get a special achievement award but an award every year isn't needed. There are very, very few truly exceptional mocap performances and certainly not enough to award one per year. It would also push the industry to overuse it simply to get awards

@@tellemstevedave5559 I disagree. Maybe you haven't seen or acknowledged mocap performances but they have been around quite a long time now. Superhero, sci-fi and fantasy movies have been flush with them for over twenty years now with no recognition. The reason why you don't notice most of the great ones is because the most notable are usually done by Andy!! Mocap is not going anywhere and will be used more and more regardless. If anything, adding an actual award dedicated to it will add the type of prestige where actors will want to put in performances worthy of praise. Andy is the standard. Name the award after him.

I love the Ape movies, however I just wish they would more from epic story telling to character based. I would have loved to have seen how the Ape society grew from when Caesar died. Telling the same old story that Apes and Humans don't get along is nothing new but how they would face the challenges as a community would. Hoping that's what the new saga is moving to as opposed to more war and conflict.
