Kingdom Two Crowns World Record Speedrun Any% improving on the record time. There is some commentary in this playthrough but was still adjusting sound at this point. With some further improvements to the strategy and good RNG I believe I can push the time to be faster, possibly around 2h30m. I'm also thinking of doing a Shogun playthrough just to see what the differences are since I haven't played too much of that version.

What I mean though is the time of day you left. You ran off very eary morning without a full purse. I thought even if you left end of day 4 you would start next island at the start of day 4. So sticking around for gold and recruits would make sense. Appreciate the swift response btw, and awesome run although I haven't yet watched all of it. 61 days is my record in case you care. Running from one side of the map to the other gets boring fast. I'm on the 5th island and that's where I'm stopping. Great speedrun. At least I got to see the ending :)

Can I ask why you rushed off island 1 at the start of day 4? I figured it doesnt matter what time of day you leave so you could stay and grab a little extra gold. Or am I mistaken? Forgive me if you answered this on the video. I have APD and couldn't follow a word.

In previous speed runs people would rush off island 1 as early as day 2, I stay a little longer mainly to build up the base. After building the base I'd prefer to leave because we'll return for the archery statue and have the stag so we'll get gold much faster with those 2 things.

@@geekdave01 I probably should've left on Day 3, but I ended up just waiting for the day to tick over to grab the merchant money. If you are just counting days then yes it would be worth it to wait, but I'm using a timer for the speedrun. The same amount of time will gain more gold with the stag.

Very impressive run! Do you have any tips for completing the game?

I've got plenty of tips but just depends on how you want to play. In general, I avoid spending too long on each Island and avoid taking out unnecessary portals as the retaliation waves get stronger after a portal is destroyed. The nightly greed waves are reset after going to a new Island so it's often worth just paying the greed when you arrive at a new Island. All about good planning! If you're going to be hitting winter soon be sure to have gold stocked up etc!

@@OneDragon yup I’ve learned that spending too long on the islands isn’t ideal haha. My last game I completed the first 4 and moved onto the 5th at the start of year 6, and I was destroyed within a few days. I’ve started a new one and I’m going much faster now and I’m going to try work backwards - just got to island 5 at about day 30

@@Heinz_Hoops Year 6! rofl, I wonder what that looks like. In New Lands I once made it to day 171 on island 5 before the lag got so bad I gave up. I can't even imagine what year 6 waves would be like in this game.

@@geekdave01 new lands is different to two crowns, as in new lands once winter starts it never ends. It’s hard to last long on new lands, at least for me, because of money shortage / increasing attack size, whereas two crowns when seasons cycle you’re not going to struggle much with money, and wave sizes are smaller on new islands. Also, procrastinating my dissertation by playing two crowns helped me reach that many years hahah.

Stupid Question I suppose, but how do you mark so many trees to be cut down? In my game I can only mark 4 trees if they are close to each other, then I have to wait for them to be cleared and then, only then, i can select more.

It should be based on how close they are to a clearing/where there is light. If there is a clearing on either side of a group of trees then you can mark quite a lot of them.

Eating grass restores stamina, you can't run forever and walking is so much slower that it's easily worth it to just eat grass fpr a few seconds

He's giving gems to greed in both islands 2 and 3, I think more, probably because he still doesn't need most upgrades and gems occupe a lot of space in the bag.

Correct, for the speedruns gems are only needed for mounts as the other upgrades are mainly useful if you stay on each Island longer.

Ok cool. I was just curious. I recently just got a PB of 47 in game days on medieval (~4 hours RTA), and I was thinking about recording a run for the leaderboard. I play on Switch. It was a big PB too, as my best before that was 63 on Shogun. Pre-winter feels like such an accomplishment. I used archer statue, stag, builder statue, unicorn, and knight statue.

@@OneDragon I had some traditional 100% playthroughs under my belt, and at some point I just got curious how fast I could beat it. Obviously the AI of the builders has changed since this run. Do you still build the boat straight away on return trips on island 1 & 2?

I know a capture card isn’t strictly necessary, but gameplay looks better with a capture card. If I can replicate what I did earlier, I could get a 5th place time

Got it from getting the Cursed Crown on the first 3 Challenge Islands. Since they added a fourth it's possible that you need all 4 now.
