NOBODY talks about the fact.. When Kinger touched Queenie, his hand DIDN'T glitch. So, if one were to finally go off the deep end and abstract, they won't always injure someone, they're still sentient. Kaufmo tried to attack Pomni, because he could've seen her as an intruder.. He was panicked, he didn't know what to do.

In earlier episodes he seemed to know the inner workings of the circus more than the others. Now The line "7 years of computer science for this" seems to imply he had at least some input into this program, so he's almost certainly been there the longest of the main cast, and maybe even since the beginning.

I think Kinger acting crazy is his way of coping his loss. Just like how Deadpool always cracks jokes and doesn't take almost everything seriously as a way cope the physical and perhaps emotional pain/trauma he's feeling according to a comic and to Screen Rant

The thing that hurts the MOST is that part of his wife was still in her, so it’s like watching you’re wife slowly pass away and you getting to feel her for the last time in your life, and they had to go through with being in the darkness for possibly YEARS. I don’t really blame Kinger for being the way he is, what if he’s always so scared and paranoid is that he’s afraid it might happen again, after all it did with Kaufmo and he probably witnessed all his former friends get abstracted so htis really says a lot.

So this scene confirms Kinger had a wife (black chess queen) and most probably, he lost control of his lucid memories at the same time she got abstracted, making the only times he recovers his memories it's in the middle of the darkness. If he could keep his eyes closed, maybe he could recover some of his memories. Also, it could make sense he's the programmer of TADC considering his 7 years in computer science, his hate to insects (bugs), his time at the circus and because he's a royal piece of chess, meaning he have a higher position.

If you rewatch the previous episodes, Kinger doesn’t seem so inane anymore: the insect collection he mentions at the start, him noticing the candy bugs when they’re entering the kingdom, and even the pillow fort itself. Great writing and great foreshadowing.

Did you notice, that Kinger somehow knows about his past, despite of all other contestants do not remembering it. I mean, he knew that his wife was here with him, while in the first episode we can see, that nobody, do not know each other. They are just strangers for each other. Could this mean, Kinger is not only one of the oldest participants, but also one of the creators of the TADC, because he came to play it with his own wife?

Queenie showing signs of calming down and recognizing Kinger, gives me the feeling there's at least a flicker of hope for the abstracted. While they cannot be restored to their normal selves, at least they could be freed eventually (either as a spirit going to the afterlife or just them waking up in the real world to get help) Only time will tell.
