Yes sir on kingfish. When I was a kid in the 70's we'd go out of Mayport Fla. and catch 40-50 pounders, dad would steak and fillet them out. vaccumm them up. We ate well.

Just a heads up for the next time you cook fish on the half shell: you should start with the fish skin side down and cook the fish 80% on the skin and flip it at the end. That way the skin gets nice and crispy.

On the first fish, when I saw the length of your leader in front of the lead, I kind of figured that you were rigged for Mutts. I was surprised to see a king come up on the same rig. Kings usually require wire & mutts usually shy away from it. You hooked that second fish in a special way to get that to work. Well done once again. Impressive as always.

Blue crab, stripers, Tuna & billfish, and bluefish are the only fish I have in common with Florida. But they only get wimpy little bluefish and stripers in Florida, the big ones are up north. I want a Tuna because I've never caught one. But my #1 fish is actually a Halibut. It's like a flounder but 10x bigger. The keeper limit is like 48" Stripers are probably the #1 fish for eating though. They are amazing, and difficult to obtain because even commercial fishing is limited to rod and reel.

If you gaff anything, it's gonna "bleed alot". Watch that part of the video again closely, you can even see the blood coming directly out of the hole in the fish caused from the gaff. Only for a split second, but you'll see it. I did & only watched the video once.
