For anybody wondering, Louisiana was not a “Hot Spot” when we went there. It wasn’t even mentioned. My crew and i(who have been together since this all started) decided to go there because it was empty. While we were there We didn’t use public facilities. We waited till later than normal so that we were not around a crowd. While traveling, we spray down the fuel nozzle with 91% alcohol and use as much common sense as possible. Once it was stated that Louisiana (New Orleans) was a hot spot. We drove non stop with exception for fuel back to my home and ranch where we’ve been since. Thank you all for your concern and I feel for everybody effected by this terrible virus! I pray we get through it soon!
@bengt_axle4 жыл бұрын
deermeatfordinner So if it was not a Hot Spot why was the marina closed due to covid as you state (0:53) in the video? Because the governor ordered it closed due to Covid spreading from community transmission. And no, wiping the handle on the fuelling nozzle won’t make up for spending several days out fishing and eating with people you don’t live with. Covid spreads within the community primarily through droplets that are expelled when we speak. That’s why you shouldn’t be in close proximity with others, like on a fishing boat.

8638marc I’ve been with this guys since this started. The marina “store” was not closed until that morning. I fished 2 days and Louisiana was not even mentioned as a hot spot until after we arrived. The marina wasn’t ordered to close, it closed on its own accord. Then we left and came home. This is not a complicated issue. I believe many people are mis understanding how many people I was around.
@lysellaht66004 жыл бұрын
Regardless if it’s a hot spot or not, you’re in close contact w people on that boat that you do not live with. They can be a carrier of the virus, or even yourself, then pass it off to someone in your/their household. That’s the whole point of sheltering in place. Again, I’m a big supporter of your videos and business, but not when you’re one of those contributing to all of this being extended

Being a service hand on the drilling rigs out there in the Gulf gave me time to fish from the platform. We used from 6" and 12" diamond jigs at night. With the big floodlights on the semi-submersiables pointing out into the water the Tuna and Amberjack would circle the rig. Being 60'+ from the surface we used grappling hooks tied to rope with a clasp to run down the line to carry up the fish. One rig we were close to the water line. Caught a yellowfin and flew out less than 15 minutes after fileting it. Cooked with in 4 hours of being caught in lemon butter, it was the best I've ever had.

Love seeing your daughters involved. My oldest daughter is 22 and has her own family that lives 45 minutes from me and every year around this time texts me everyday wanting to know if the morels are up so they can come pick some. Raising them on food you catch, shoot or find in the woods really stays with them for life and gets passed on to the next generation. We lost a lot of info on what people ate back in the old days when food was hard to find so passing on the information is rare these days. Keep it up and keep spending time with your family. It does make a difference. Thanks for the videos, love the channel. Enjoy the family

Hey deermeat, I just wanted to point out that whenever you say “sushi” it actually refers to vinegar rice (that’s the literal word to word translation). So, if there is no vinegar rice with the fish, it would not count as sushi. Only preparations such as nigiri, hand rolls, or just anything with vinegar flavored rice in general counts as sushi.
