The first movement of John Mackey's well-known piece, "Kingfishers Catch Fire." This movement represents the Kingfisher waking after a heavy rainfall. This movement involves no percussion and is very suspended, involving a lone trumpet soloist. Performed by the University of Georgia Wind Ensemble.
