Great video! Quick question: is it possible to see a preview of the film simulation on the viewfinder/glass on the x100f? When I shoot a video, I constantly see everything I shoot in a film simulation, but when I want to take a photo and look through the viewfinder, I don't see the film simulation. Is that normal? I would love it if I could see the film simulation all the time to know exactly what the photo will look like. Thanks for your help.

I find DR400 to also give a really nice grain effect by itself :) Subtler than any actual grain effects, but enough to give the image a bit of character (when shooting at ISO 640).

Hey guys, I'm new to the Fuji world and had one question regarding recipes. I bought a 2nd hand x100f and this comes with the film simulation of course. My question is: for adding recipes, do they go "on top" of the film simulations? or do they recipes go somewhere else, on this custom settings part? I'm afraid of deleting the default ones that come with the camera and not use the recipes... Not sure if I'm explaining myself but would appreciate some help.

One thing I noticed that film simulation struggles to emulate from film is the color bleed from sharp edges. If you're ever able to compare the same photograph of something using both film and digital (even with film simulation), look at the edges of buildings or signs. You should be able to see a slight diffusion of color as one element transitions to the other. The overall softness and diffusiveness of film is the biggest hurdle digital film simulation has currently.

Hey - thank you so much for all your great work on these recipes. I'm in love with my new X-E1 and wish Fuji would revive that sensor. I came across an awesome Interpretation of Portra 400 there which is based on pro neg high (don't like color chrome - mostly boring). I spend the day trying to mimic that result on the x100v - it is unbelievable how different the base settings need to be if you want to achieve the same results. It comes down to whitebalalance a lot and color saturation. Whereas the xe-1 only needs a - 1 redshift - the x100v needed a +3 redshift (x-e1 is at 6300k, x100v is at 6700) and plus 3 color setting. It's all about the warmth these newer sensors are missing. Pretty happy with the result though. Have you had similar experiences?
