Unplanned Shop Extension in the Cold But No Bugs Oct 30 2023

it was a monday with it being decided at 9pm sunday night that we are going to move the wood stove. to move the wood stove means adding more to the little shop which we did the ground work and steel frame in one day. the Me-phone acted up during the intro and but everything went rather well. i put one video in the wrong spot when making this video so have a drink when you watch it out of place, lol thansk

Hi King! Rhymes with Sky King Eh? I did not know you had a channel. Bravo mister, it's great to see you. To this day I follow Lisa Kelly of IRT fame on her channel. She owner operates from Fairbanks to Prudhoe AK pulling tankers and she takes us along for a bit live sometimes. Who doesn't just adore that woman? I am cut out of the same fabric as you I believe King, as I have so many obsolete cars, trucks, tractors, lawn equipment, home appliances etc and a rustic off grid place 10 steps from the edge of the world "up North." I'm no 18 wheeler driver, all of my trucks are only pickups, but none are newer than 1990, and everything else is a LOT older starting w/ a '48 8N. I drive a 1969 Plymouth Satellite every day. *( looks like a Roadrunner, but small V8, Auto, PS, PB, PW and AC) I live in Michigan and I spend a considerable amount of time in Der U.P. Eh! Grandfather bought an honest to goodness homemade log cabin on 80 acres of "swamp" 35 miles North of Marquette, about a mile walk from Gitchy Goomy, back in the 40's just after the big one, WWII. He meant to hunt deer out of it but once I became of age I can't stay away that long. No electricity, no water, wood stove, completely off grid. I'm pushing past the 71yr old mark, but I still go there and cut firewood, do fixing on the propane lights, dig a new out house hole and stuff like that. It's the closest I'll ever get to "The Great White North" and sometimes it seems like it's that far north especially if it snows for a week. However in 1975 I built a fishing cabin in Longlac Ontario, getting to the North side of Gitchy Goomy. Same deal, off grid, just plywood and 2 X 8's w/ Cedar Shakes instead of Red Cedar Logs. It can get down to -70°F in winter there, so only go there in summer. OK, Fine business Mr. King. I have subscribed and set the notice to full on, so I hope to catch you even during the "bugs." ben/ michigan

@kingofobsolete4789 it was supposed to happen a month ago. But I was waiting for the Ag water program pump, to learn on Friday it wasn't coming. So I rented 4 inch pumps and a trailer load of hoses. There's a chore stringing that crap. But the dugout is full to the top. Pumps are returned, and that's a big weight lifted off of my shoulders.

Looking good that shear will be nice to have more room in the shop I and my wife are adding on to are shop to it is shear nice know I am going to have the room so I can finally put my CnC and my mental lathe in place and still have room to work love watching your channel we got some snow hear but it melted away the next day hear southwest Minnesota.

I agree, the good thing about the snow is that there is no bugs . But watch out for a Oak Leaf Mite, that can leave a mark for 6 months. Take care

@@kingofobsolete4789 Neither have I till last year, I had my helmet laying on the ground in the snow and oak leaves and one must have gotten on the head band and bitten my forehead, it was a good size bump that was painful and then weeks later it scab over

Awesome work, more covered space is always good for winter in the Kingdom! Have you ever seen a crusher around Lynn Lake? With all those core samples you could make your own crushed gravels with even a tiny crusher from a mineral sampling setup

I use a in line disposable air filter at the back of my plasma cutter and it keeps all the water out of my machine even in the winter

I think that extension will hold up well. I have always felt that steel is better than stick built. We have the same temps here with a winter weather advisory. Oh yeah, do you chain the tires on the atv or switch right away to the sleds?

yes the doors will open and close for 20 years no problems when mounted on steel. once there is enough snow then the ski-doos come out. thansk
