Anytime you service me, I tip no matter how small or big. I took my niece to get her nails done. And I gave her enough for her nails and a tip. And when she came out, she still had the xtra money. I told her to go back in and tip the lady. She didn't really understand, but I explained it to her, now she know. Sometimes ppl don't know.

I was a Waitress...which btw I will never try to go back and do...but Its not only the black people that don't tip...and if the service wasn't good they really shouldn't have to issue extra money out for bad service, because I wouldnt..Restaurants just need to pay waiters/waitresses Minimum wage and end all the BS!

The standard for tipping is tip 20% for excellent service, 15% for very good service, and 10% for adequate, and tip on the price before tax, not after, but if my service is really good and I know my server has worked their butt off, on a $40.00, I've left anywhere from between $10 - $20. That's what's keeps these servers motivated. I'm a hostess and I know my servers be going through a lot, so I don't mind, and I don't get any tips, so...

Yes tip the server..if you already go to the restaurant not wanting to tip then you need to go to Wendy's or to the damn grocery store and cook your own shit. And yes black folks want you to come to the table and sing a song, tell some jokes, feed them the food, and take some money off the bill, THEN they will think about tipping your ass! And it's still only gon be $5 on a $60 check smh!

I totally understand your point. However, there are times when I go places and the server automatically sees that I'm black and assumes I don't tip. In these cases it reflects with how they act. Just the other night, went to Friday's. I could tell the server hadn't had a good night and was confirmed when I heard him fussing at the guard that he had been given a $2 tip on a $50 tab. I understood his frustration but don't be less attentive to our table because of that. I didn't know his name until I saw it on top of the ticket of that was his name. Had he came to my table pleasantly I would've gabe him extra for his frustration. But since he had an attitude, he only got a 25% tip and I was being generous. I tip everyone and I always have. I've never had a server that I didn't tip. I've even gave servers $20 before after seeing how demanding neighboring tables were and left little to no tips. Servers must not assume all black people don't tip. I even tip when I'm picking up to go food.

I agree but when me and my husband go out whether I swipe or he swipe it's money from the same account! But mainly, on date dinner night he is grabbing the check, we both take a looksee and start determining the tip. We Always try to tip 10 and better because we have that stereotype....and most importantly it's not right to not tip the person who SERVES you! As blacks we always want a handout, not all of us, but some and it's disgusting. I have never tipped under 10 bucks!

If your bill is $50 then $10 is right. I got a $5 tip on a $120 tab. I gave excellent service and met all their needs. I didn’t want “bad service” to be the reason I didn’t get tipped properly. $5 on $120?!?! They should have left another $20 on top of that.

I really feel bad to have to agree with you but, unfortunately, I DO! I've been in the industry on and off now for a little over 20 years and I see it all the time! I don't understand why! I saw one of your video's where you said your sales were a little over $1,200.00 and you said after tip out you left with only $90.00. I'm so sorry. That is DISGUSTING! I'm a Mom and a wife. The restaurant business allows me the hours to be home with my son and work around my husband's schedual. Most shifts I do well but there ARE those shifts where you just can't believe how people are tipping! It makes you SICK! I come home and tell my husband and son some crazy stories! I LOVE your video's! When I get frustrated with some customers, I think of your video's. I also tell the other servers about your video's as well. Thank you so much for these. Keep it up!

I'm a bartender. We had a mostly white crowd last week, I made $160 a night. Black crowd this week, I brought home $60 all weekend. We have kids to feed! WTF! And I get $2 from every table and at most people didn't tip at all for drinks. You realize how much harder you have to work to feed your kids based on the crowd. We do a Latin night once in a while, and I make the least amount those nights though.

For servers it's $2.13. if they don't get enough in tips the restaurant by law needs to make up the difference. If it's an in going thing that the restaurant has to do that they generally replace the server with someone better at getting tipped.

And you preached during this video. It's so bad at the restaurant where I work, because it's 4 hospitals around within a 4 mile radius, with 2 hostesses, we're completely overwhelmed when globs of people start coming in, and then we sometimes have to help the servers out running tables, cause like you said, the restaurant don't want to hire people because they money hungry.

The Federal Labor Standards Act allows employees who receive regular tips to be paid less then Federal Minimum Wage (as little as $2.13/hr) as long as the tips they receive in any given hour plus their wage add up to at least the applicable Minimum Wage. A "tipped employee" is defined as any employee who receives at least $30 in tips a month. If the tipped employee does not receive enough tips during an hour to add up to the applicable Minimum Wage, their employer must make up the difference. Some states have higher direct wage amounts, but no matter where you are you are always guaranteed to earn at least Federal Minimum Wage in any tipped position.

The only reason for someone to not tip is if the service & food was bad. I remember when I went to Applebee's & this white girl had a horrible attitude. I had to get the mgr involved & I got my money back. I still left her a tip. I wrote BITCH on a napkin. That was her tip. If you cant afford to go out to eat, then don't. Some folks are just cheap and some people barely got the money to go out to eat. I never went out to eat if I didn't have the money to. I usually tip & my parents do too. Sometimes me and my bff would go half on the tip that way it can be more. I have worked at a restaurant before too but I wasn't a waitress. I refused to be a waitress because I don't wanna experience this shit. Fast food restaurant workers can have it just as bad. Justin it aint just in restaurants. Hell I have been through a lot of shit because I have a lot of work experience. I have worked at 4 fast food joints, 2 clothing stores, 1 shoe store, & Walmart. When I was a cashier at Walmart, customers would be pissed because the lines were long. All I can do is check out the people in my line. I have no control over how many cashiers there are. I will never forget when I worked at Wendy's & I was cleaning up & some white people were making a mess on purpose. The lady wiped her mouth & threw the napkin on the floor & said well she gotta sweep it up anyway. I was so pissed. Some workers have attitudes & some customers have attitudes. The biggest lie ever told is the customer is always right. Man its bullshit on every job. I feel u Justin...

PhiloAmericana Many restaurants don't make up for it. They also don't give their employees their break every 4 hours, or 8 hours. You're lucky to get one when you work a 12 hour ship. So shut the fuck up. You obviously have never worked as a server.

MiamiPush2theLimit Serving is one of the best jobs you can get without a college degree, which I am working on. Im just explaining why people have no reason to be cheap. Tipping is expected and should be thought of as part of the bill unless the service was absolutely terrible

Yes, I usually tip 20%+ and give $2.00 per drink tip handed directly to the bartender (more if they make it correctly). I'm Black....lol. And people pay in cash.

I tip very well, and always get the best treatment. If I am on a date, the man does handle it.
