Daylyt brought performance art, bars, & rap back. I'll touch on why: You all miss the point. The slavery thing was a satire on people wanting day to rap (including myself) & the ridiculousness in the news. Honestly, watching this battle was the first time in a while I really enjoyed day (haven't seen serius/verb battles yet). Aside from the antics in the beginning and end it was ALL bars. If you noticed, NO one boo'd and he controlled the crowd, harkening back to more classic Day. The personals from Pat were good for sure, but Daylyt barred Pat out the venue...and I LOVE Pat. Daylyt had something to say all rounds (2nd was a bit weak), and 1st & 3rd were crazyyy. The antics were a little cringeworthy but to be honest some people need to see it anyways. It was a performance & day is an artist who should be appreciated. To be completely honest, I don't think anyone truly "lost," but Daylyt outperformed. No jokes...just bars. And usually I love jokes as Pats were so fucking funny (props for the shit & slow-itdown portions...genius). But you all are missing the point. Again...Daylyt brought performance art & wish you all would just admit that.

Overall automatically giving those two rounds to Pat stay. Ultimately having Pat winning the battle in the first 2 round. The third round the "master" wanted to have some fun showing that daylyt had skills to beat Pat . So he told Daylyt to put the mask on. Causing Daylyt's demeanor to change. Making him more aggressive ripping in to Pat. Once he took the mask off . His master said good you're showing your true potential. Then basically telling him to stand there turn around so he could get beat again. because ultimately N****'s weren't supposed to show his true potential. Daylyt still feeling empowered from his mask .Turned around took his master's whip and whipped him chasing him off. Then coming back to Pat with like no time left over and his mask off without his master . Still managed to finish off Pat with a few good bars. Ultimately beating Pat in the third round. Pat Stay two rounds Daylyt one round....Seems as though Daylyt wasn't really trying to win this rap battle at all he was sending a message. Think what you will of Daylyt he's a lot smarter than people give him credit for. Now go watch Daylyt's match against Madchild if you haven't yet. You won't be disappointed in either of them. I live in Toronto so I'll explain. Under our shit ass old mayor and the Canadian government slowly becoming more and more like the US, Toronto has turned into a gold mine for building companies. Essentially, builders are buying up wherever they can to build condo's. XS nightclub is now closed. Canada's biggest club ever, home of the Kool Haus concert venue is now about to close and turn into condo's. It's bullshit but the Opera House (an old vaudeville theatre) is the only nice vibe venue I can think of. I suppose they can maybe bring in stands and build a pit but idk, it would be difficult unfortunately.

Day's antic was genius and it actually stole a lot of the attention away from Pat's first verse as the crowd was very eager to see what he Day was bringing to the table. That being said, the second was horrible and he choked at the end. Too much emphasis on the gimmick(though I get it), not enough on rhymes. He's brilliant sometimes, but lacks the focus to truly bring it all together....No way he should have lost to basic rapping Pat Stay, but he clearly did. As dope as the first was....he never went at Pat. Pat's rhymes were not good at all, but at least he was battling Day. In the end, I wish KOTD would stop importing all of the URL rappers into their league and focus on their own shit. the only one I like seeing in this format, with these guys is DNA. Clips, Jones, Magic, Big T, Dollaz, Aye Verb, Cortez, they all seem out of place battling, Pat Stay, Charron, Hollohan....it's like they don't even know what to say against those guys, and they rarely take the battles serious. You will NEVER get Clips to use anything but freestyles against any of them, unless he's facing someone he truly respects. Daylyt will focus more on the performance than the opponent, unless it's someone he truly respects. That's why you saw them at their best against each other, but lackluster against cats who talent wise, may actually not even be on level. All in all, this battle was only worth watching for Daylyts first round IMO....the way he flipped all of the KOTD rappers in that verse, and broke down how they just use the blacks they bring in to build their brand, and credibility was the most genius shit I have ever heard in a battle....

By the way if you understood the intricacy of rapping. Ie internal and multi syllabic rhymes etc, you would know that pat's actual rapping skills and pen game is extremely basic, especially when compared to the layered metaphors and word manipulation that daylyt does (also with originality being the epitome of art) . I understand that pat stay is a good entertainer, and fits jokes into his raps and has good stage presence, this leads profane, simple minds, casual observers and those who only understand THE ART OF EMCEEING and Hip Hop CULTURE on the most superficial of levels to confuse this for superior Rapping. Pat stay has mastered the BATTLE part, he just needs to work on the RAP part to become a complete BATTLE RAPPER. otherwise he is just watered down entertainment for the below average human specimen (yeah i mean you Brent Moentmann )
