Something i am amazed at is just how often a +1 makes or would make the difference A +1 or +2 is twice as affective in PF2 than it is in DnD5e because of the crit system. Technically 3 times as effective because it can also keep you away from those crit fails.
@clintonbehrends4659 Жыл бұрын
a +1 modifier in everything is technically equivalent to leveling up statistically (so having the fear or sickened status is the equivalent to leveling down!)

I have seen better explanations of cover and stealth for beginners but they take 30 minutes at least, which is a bit much to ask of a beginner. And if they don’t get it the first time, or forget and need a refresher that’s another 30 minutes? The relevant part is like 5 minutes of the video so it is easily rewatchable as many times as it takes to get it and as a refresher before a session of you want to be sneaky. And do I need to mention how good it is for just 5 minutes? Seriously! I can’t fathom a better explanation that uses less or even the same amount of time. Every second is used as efficiently as possible and things are introduced in the right order to make the explanation as concise as possible. It’s amazing! Thank you for this video and I look forward to more!

1:40 Why not demoralize as the 1st action? Wouldn't the frightened affect more strikes that way?

To add few things. You can always Sneak but if enemy can observe you when you use Sneak you stay observed regardless of result. You automatically become Hidden when enemy can't observe you, like behind full cover. When fleeing the enemy you should consider Striding to behind full cover instead of Hiding in order to become Hidden. If you fail Avoid Noticed you can't be unnoticed in next encounter but if you succeed both Avoid Notice as well initiative Stealth you start encounter Undetected and Unnoticed. -It is up to your group to talk what happens when it is creature's turn when all enemies are unnoticed. The Remaster rewrote Seek action in a way you are now just seeking everything that is hidden including creatures. Search Exploration Activity works against creatures using Avoid Noticed. If you succeed instead of starting middle of Goblin Ambush you would start ~50ft earlier. Edit: Tried to summarized everything down.

With 5-7 unexperienced players: DM gives + or - based on common sense, going for player's experience rather than exact rules.

Some feats give you the ability to string multiple strides together, with you remaining hidden if you're still behind cover at the end of your turn rather than at the end of each movement.

Question: Can you actually Sneak while being Hidden?. In the Core Rulebook (pg. 252) the description of the ability says that you must be undetected, so I got a bit confused there @_@

Okasy, I have a stupid question. IF my oponent is Hiden and If I am successful in a DC 11 flat test, do I have to make another attack roll? Or does it count as the same? Sory for all mistakes
@KingOogaTonTon Жыл бұрын
Not stupid at all! Yes, you have to make another attack roll. So 1 roll to overcome the Hidden condition, and a second roll to actually make the attack.

Is it just me or was the entire idea of "advantage" replaced by "flat footed" in Pathfinder?
@KaZlos Жыл бұрын
thats was in pf1e, in 2e flat footed is just a circumstance one, so ou want to stack it with a status and item bonuses - and you can use true strike for "advantage"
@kikikillian1208 Жыл бұрын
@@KaZlos yeah I get that, I'm just used to 5e giving advantage for stuff like attacking when hidden and all that
@neon-lake Жыл бұрын
That's what the whole advantage system was trying to simplify eplace in the first place my guy Instead of all these +1&2s from 3e and Pathfinder u just roll twice
@kikikillian1208 Жыл бұрын
@@neon-lake tbf, advantage is an average of +3.smth so yeah, I get that
@BestgirlJordanfish Жыл бұрын
Like so many of the best parts of Pathfinder 2E, it’s rooted in D&D 4E. In this case, they used the term “combat advantage” for a +2 bonus under different circumstances, though that was rooted in a pretty different version of flat-footed as basically a vulnerable state without certain modifiers instead of that -2 to AC.

The stealth and surprise systems in pf2e are a nightmare for new gms. When you have only one pc it’s fine, but with multiple pcs and enemies, it’s a nightmare to track. And given the descriptions are so vague anyone has its own interpretation , I just cut the whole system out from my games , getting closer to a pf1/dd5 system
@Gubbykahn Жыл бұрын
Most important Action in Pathfinder is Eating Cheese! It gives you so much Bonus to your next Rounds. If you play Ratfolk you get doubled Bonus!
@icevlad148 Жыл бұрын
Dear god. Conditions within conditions, bonuses that stack bonuses that don't. How GMs keep track of all of this? If 5e is experiencing GM drout, pathfinder must be living with it.
@ВсеславМатвеев Жыл бұрын
Following established rules, to me, is easier than creating them on the fly or searching homebrew for them, judgin if they are Balanced or not. But that only matter's if you, as the DM, want to keep everything fair and consistent.
@nivrap_ Жыл бұрын
Because PF doesn't put all the workload on the GM. Players are responsible for knowing their conditions because individually, each of them will only have a few.
@KaitoKurogami Жыл бұрын
As a new DM, it was easier than i tought it would be, and half the time if an enemy is flat footed or has a condition, the players tell you because they want to hit the enemies more than anyone. Also, there are lots of ways to keep track of conditions and statuses, if you cant remember everything, you can write it down in like 10 seconds, you can use tokens to represent statuses and physically give them to the players, etc. (and yes, for some people it will look like homework, but for other people it will actually be more fun) And if you use any kind of virtual tabletop it keeps track of itself
@hectorvivis3651 Жыл бұрын
You get familiar with it, or at least how to get the relevant info. The GM screen is really great and gives you near everything you need for that.
@DirkMcThermot Жыл бұрын
If I’m unsure about something, I can search it quickly and easily on Archives of Nethys. For 5e, I have to hope people on the internet have already asked my same question and do overall more research work (doubly so for rules that are scattered throughout the PHB or DMG).
