Since you’re using the Remaster rules here, it’s worth noting that Knockdown isn’t automatic anymore, it’s an action which doesn’t interact with the multiple attack penalty

Still consider that a poor design decision. Sure it has its positives but it seriously makes the ability massively more powerful on >APL Monsters and significantly worse on

I once came up with a new idea: create a curse of the Werebat based on the Dhampir race!
@Sugar_Crash19 ай бұрын
There actually is a werebat! It just wasn't in the video since it was about the Bestiary 1 Were-creatures, and Werebat is in Bestiary 3

the Grab action from the bestiary does not have the Attack trait, and as such, does not increase MAP. The remaster preview seems to show that this has been changed in the remaster, instead of just automatically grabbing, creatures with grab will instead get a MAP-less grapple, tho it is unclear if t his will increase your MAP after the grapple.

It does not, as far as I’ve seen

Our party fought a werewolf. Two our members got bitten. One resisted, one didn't. So, I guess we have a *becomewolf* in our party now, eh? :)

As far as strategy, I'd say that even tho alignment isn't popular these days, it can still be a good guide to behavior. Lawfuls will be organized, use group tactics, and work together. Chaotics will act individually and not really cooperate. Good creatures will protect each other and show mercy to their opponents, even preferring talk to fighting. Evil ones will attack to kill or at least severely maim, and probably not care at all about their allies. And Neutrals will be less extreme, and favor the non-Neutral part of their alignment, tending to make more personalized decisions but with the group in mind, even if they don't follow the plan, as the case may be.

In this case you can see how alignment is actually a poor fit. Werewolves who are chaotic attacks in groups with Pack Tactics, whilst werebears who are lawful are loners.
@MemphiStig Жыл бұрын
@@andrejbosiakov5726 Being a loner or with a group has nothing to do with alignment. You can live alone and still be organized, obey the law, follow a code, etc. Or be in a group and act individually, like a mob, or being a loose cannon. I agree Pack Tactics are less chaotic than no tactics, but werewolves are wolves, who are neutral, so maybe werewolves should be neutral too? Or at least on the neutral side of chaotic. It is a sliding scale after all, not a straight jacket. (And WOTC isn't always right.)

@@MemphiStig How can it have nothing to do with alignment if "Lawfuls with be organized, use group tactics, and work together. Chaotics will act individually and not really cooperate."? All animals are neutral, shouldn't all werecreatures be neutral too? I think alignment is a poor fit on most creatures in fantasy, exceptions being creatures written into alignment like demons and angels.
@MemphiStig Жыл бұрын
@@andrejbosiakov5726 Because regardless of your alignment, you can still choose to be in a group or alone. Pretty basic life choices actually, independent of alignment. And werecreatures aren't natural animals, so they aren't all neutral. But really, if you don't like alignment, don't use it. If you have your own ideas what it means, go with it. This ain't science. It's a game. Your game. Play it your way.
