Love him since 56, now I am 80 and still can't take my eyes off of him. His beauty both inside and out is what Elvis fans are stuck on. He has the voice of an angle can sing anything form gospel to Opera, is the number on single selling artist of all time. He recorded over 700 songs and made 31 movies. Started out with gospel, born in a black ghetto in Mississippi. Went to a black church and loved it's uplifting quality and the people who sang it. when he was doing 2 shows a night in Vegas during the 70's he would go back to his suite in the hotel and sing gospel all night long, he said it was his anchor and calmed him down. He was generous to a fault and loved his fans. He loved his mother and was devoted to her until she died while he was in the Army for two years. There are always his detractors who think he only sang "hound dog" and rocked his hips, but he was an amazing artist who changed culture and music in the 50's when I was a teenager. He fought all the odds against a racist era and fought for civil rights which his greedy manager hated. I am so grateful to you for showcasing Elvis, and Bless you. I subbed.

Mohammad Ali said Elvis was the most beautiful man he'd ever seen. He wasn't alone. I've heard many straight men who met him in person, including other famous men, say that Elvis was the most handsome and beautiful man they'd ever seen... and that he was even better looking in person! You need to watch the original Jailhouse Rock movie performance. The one you reacted to was years after the original, which was in a movie scene in the movie called Jailhouse Rock.

When someone can recognize and appreciate beauty in either sex just confirms that individual's confidence in their own sexuality. It is the people who can't talk about it that are worrisome. Your reactions are wonderful and I love your deep, soft voice. Thanks for this one. Elvis was so amazing, right?? ❤❤❤❤

Elvis said “ if he couldn’t move, he couldn’t sing”. His legs always shook , sometimes gently but other times caused his whole body to move. Jailhouse Rock was in the charts for 27 weeks with 7 weeks at No1. It went Double Platinum after the film was released in 1957 all physical vinyl sales. No downloads or streaming!! 👌💕🕺

i shouted out “i love you!” to you on tv 3 times during your reaction to Elvis singing unchained melody because you got it… you got the way i and millions of people feel about Elvis. beautiful inside and out. my first tv memory is when i was 2 years old and i was spellbound by a man in white singing in front of a dark background. this must have been aloha from Hawaii. i was one of the 1.5 billion people who tuned in live that day. when i was 6 years old Elvis died and i cried all day . the grown ups didnt understand why i was so sad. then time passed and i got to love Elvis all over again last year. there are so many great songs and what might interest you as well is that Elvis was also a producer and actually conducted his band and backingvocals with movements on stage. do look at some documentaries and understand even better how he impacted our world. so my requests for you are: Elvis and the black comunity( that echo will never die / Elvis, a generous heart and musicwise… well any liveperformance .. for example polk salad Annie or trying to get to you(68 comeback special) i do love saucy Elvis😊 but also romantic Elvis😊 singing loveletters or don t. ( rehearsal) btw. your doing a great job! kind regards from Switzerland

Elvis was on fire in this 1968 TV special (it was the most watched show of that year). He hadn't performed live in front of an audience for about 7 years (making lots of movies in Hollywood) and was really nervous. It came to be known as his 'Comeback special' because it proved he was still the best entertainer around and no-one will ever look as good in black leather ❤

68 Comeback Special. Any song from there is so worth seeing. He has a sit down and standing editions. This special has become iconic. It was supposed to be a Christmas Special but the director of this wanted people to see Elvis as he really was. He had stage fright his entire life. This was a live NBC Special and right before he went on, he called the director in and told him he couldn’t go out. The director ( who’s still alive) said” what do you mean you can’t go out?” 😂😂 Elvis was so nervous he almost had a panic attack. Director Steve Binder said, “go out say hello and if you can’t do it, come back. “. Elvis went putt and if you ever watch the start on U tube, you’ll see how nervous he was. As soon as he started singing, he’d get so into the music, he was fine. He’d go through these nerves before his shows and then when he was on stage he was confident and loved to sing and perform. He’d say he’d feel the music inside him and would have to move. Thank goodness for us he was courageous enough to take those first steps out there. His interviews show how humble, soft spoken and at times self conscious he was. That’s why his fans loved him. He was always himself. When you’re alone ( a solo singer ) and you’re one of the first people to reach that iconic level of fame, I’m not sure anyone can handle it. As we’ve seen repeated stories in music history such as early deaths of Elvis, Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. Whitney once said in an interview “ success is wonderful, it’s the fame that kills you”. 🥲

His stretching is really the fact that he has a black belt in karate & so he does all these moves and stretches and he uses the movements he’s learned from karate. Jailhouse Rock is a movie Elvis was the star in and that is the song he does with a choreographed dance scene in prison which he did. It was a great movie. 😊❤

OMG THANK YOU! These 2 performances for some reason aren't requested very much, which i don't understand. That being said, i think they are amazing. Notice at about 6:42 he made a very little flub of the lyrics & gave a tiny laugh to himself -- also notice how it didn't concern him as he just went right along as if nothing happened -- he was very good at that -- he had flubbed some lyrics a couple of times in his life but was a master at continuing unnerved. Yes he was gorgeous & it is very normal for a "straight" male to see that -- how could you NOT see it! Gorgeous is gorgeous. Regarding my last name: please DO NOT concern yourself w-that -- besides, believe it or not someone -- either KZbin or Google spelled it incorrectly -- my last name is Hayat (w-a "t" @ end) pronounced like the Hyatt Hotel. Jailhouse Rock originated from his 1957 film of the same name. Of course there is this famous dance # in the film on video but looks quite different than this '68 version. The film version was choreographed & rehearsed but hardly anyone knows that the choreographer for the film was Alex Romero -- he was never given credit for it due to an internal dispute w-MGM top brass. But Romero did go on to choreograph 3 more of Elvis' films. Thank you again.

Great recommendation Carol, and good to have the info behind the music too. I’ve loved Elvis for 63 years and love learning something new!! Love how your selections are firing up a love of Elvis in a new young person who had no idea about the man behind the legend! His enthusiasm is wonderful and he will now pass it on to more of the young KZbin generation. Elvis is “ an Echo that will never die”🙏👌💕🕺

@@julialesleysheppard Thanks so much for your nice words. It's good when people can have a little background info -- it gives more understanding & meaning to the person & to the song, & i feel if there are 2 songs which are not long -- & Elvis' songs were not long as we know -- then it's nice to have 2 back to back. Btw, i have been listening to Elvis since 1954 when i was 11 at which time all we had were records, the radio & the occasional TV appearance, so these videos are super duper.

Please check out See See Rider from 1972. This would be from the Hampton Roads, Virginia, show that was filmed for Elvis On Tour, his last movie, only it was a documentary. Several shows were filmed then spliced together in the movie into a full concert. This song became a regular opener for Elvis during the performance and touring years from 69 to 77. This particular version had a lot of energy and is one of my favorite versions.

Call perkins actually had recorded the song before Elvis, however, both of them were from sun records Carl Perkins wasn't as well-known as Elvis at the time, you can see a jam session between Johnny Cash Carl Perkins Jerry Lewis and Elvis on the million dollar quartet album released I think early 2000 don't quote me on that This unplanned jam sessions was early in Elvis's career. He had just recently signed the RCA. Call Perkins had been been recording that day Jerry Lee Lewis was playing piano Elvis. And his girlfriend happened to drop in. They started jamming. And I'm not sure if Johnny Cash came in later or he was already there not sure on that.
