Big Stump Trail, located in Kings Canyon National Park in California.
The trail’s name, "Big Stump," originates from the remnants of giant sequoias that were logged in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These stumps serve as historical markers, reminding visitors of the logging era that nearly decimated the giant sequoia population. The most famous of these is the Mark Twain Stump, a massive sequoia stump where a section was cut and displayed at the American Museum of Natural History in New York and the British Museum in London.
