I'm a Spaniard, and I was blown away by my visit to Busch Gardens. Everything, from theming to restaurants to coasters and rides... EVERYTHING is of a much higher quality than our country's most famous theme parks. Busch Gardens is beautiful, well cared for, and so underrated. I've been to Universal and Disney too, and it's honestly not that far from that level of quality.

I can only hope. These are my home parks, being about 2 hours away. I rode my first coaster at King's Dominion and got a Busch Gardens "fun card" when I went to college in Richmond. So, to see them develop into major theme parks would be unreal.

Kinga Dominion has a lot of work to do, imo. Their parking lot is in terrible shape, several rides are in desperate need of paint, Delirium and the tower haven't operated since 2022, if im not mistaken. We've seen the park make strides in entertainment and food, but they cut the entertainment back, considerably (multiple things at Christmas are gone, as well as Let's Get Wild). They've gotten rid of one of their few indoor restaurants and turned into a lounge for VIP passholders, which i think is a bad move. I like what they've done with the jungle area a lot! The theming there and on Twisted Timbers has shown signs of stepping up their game! I also like the idea of utilizing SFA for multipark visits. That idea has potential. I hope Cedar Fair will start making an effort to invest more regularly in all of their parks, and not just CP, KI, CW, and Carowinds. You can't grow attendance by ignoring a park. Not thrilled about the wing coaster, but it's a significant investment, and an easy win with the GP!

1st way for KD to "Go To War" with BGW : 1. Right off the bat, how about REPAVING the FRONT PARKING LOT...someone help with this....I thought the BATTLE OF THE CRATER was in Petersburg, not the FRONT PARKING LOT in Doswell...

BGW hasn’t been the “better kept” park for some time now. Unless they’ve done a lot of work within the last year, the ride stations are filthy, there’s trash everywhere and has black mold in bathrooms.

I’m in the dc area so visit I’d about once a month and bgw a few times a year and I feel like bgw feels corporate while kd feels corporate now did I just say the same thing for both? yes Busch gardens feels corporate in the sense that it feels like they have a lot of money behind them while kings dominion feels corporate in the sense it seems they are constantly dealing with budget cuts and cutting budgets in all the wrong places. I feel kings dominion has great potential and is very special the people there love the place but more than that they love what it used to be. They used to have a lot of theming and high quality attractions. If I was in charge here’s my first 15 years 1 see through the volcano replacement 2 teaming enhancements for backlot and i305 3 new front gate and admin buildings if possible 4 bring back the old dominion line 5 raise prices on tickets lower slightly on food 6 new show in theater 7new themed launch coaster and walkthrough in planet snoopy 8 sit down restaurant 9 an animatronic show that can run in theater when shows aren’t running 10 retheme of rapids ride featuring themed building at all stopping points 11 bonuses for all employees 12 tear down windseeker and build an apple themed indoor coaster with preshow 13 now that we have 5 indoor rides go back to year round 14 gravity croup all the wood 15 i305 given new track and launch to replace lift hill rethemed to a cheetah using the name cheetaka

I’ve been of the same mind, but I’m coming to terms with the most likely option, which would be good for the park. If they aren’t going to spend funds on a huge new structure, it makes sense that they would open up the Volcano plot more.

My Broski Dominion And Gardens. Virginia have been at War with each other since like the 80’s and 90’s from some reliably sourced coaster enthusiasts online that are older than Both of Us

The two parks for one pass seems like a no brainer. I mean, if you are on a trip, and have limited resources, you will skip spending to go to BGW when the other two parks are already paid for. I feel in the past KD suffered because the company was spending a lot of resources building up Carowinds. Now that Carowinds has been basically rebuilt, they are focused on KD and CW.

I work in the hospitality industry in Williamsburg and when I talk to guests very few give two shits about KD they travel from all over the country and world to go to Busch Gardens and colonial Williamsburg the Jamestown settlement and Yorktown. At this particular hotel we have a BGW package and they get the room and two days at BGW for around 170 a night In a tourist area like Williamsburg that's cheap. I see enthusiasts wanting the two park passes and locals as well not traveling types. Unless you are a local or an enthusiast no one is traveling to go to six flags America. Busch Gardens Williamsburg has a world class reputation KD has a good rep also but people would rather spend the money knowing their experience will be memorable at BGW vs taking a chance with KD and SFA those are local and enthusiast parks not a destination like BGW is. Just my opinion from living in the area

@@adamdurbin6895You literally speak to people coming through Williamsburg. Do you not see the glaring irony in why you meet so many that either don’t know or don’t care about Kings Dominion? The irony is that you really don’t see it. KD may have had some growing pains, but it’s still my, and many other’s favorite Virginia Park. BGW is ok, but it’s way overhyped and overpriced for what they offer. It also seems like there’s very little communication between employees as they never seem to know what’s going on when asked. Cedar Fair has literally started pouring money into KD in preparation for their 50th anniversary next year. That’s also when the record breaking B&M joins the skyline, and most likely three re-themed coasters. Speaking of hospitality, KD has far better customer service and ride operations aswell.

I thought Bush Gardens Williamsburg Virginia was awful and extremely disappointed. Went there 2 yrs ago for absolutely my 1ST 1, so excited to to go, was there for 3 full days, weather was over 70 each day, loved it, they had no ice shows at all, waited in line for lunch and dinner for over 3 hrs and absolutely will never go back. Then I went to my absolute favorite park for New Years Bush Gardens Tampa for News Years (( 2023 was 8 yrs in a row )) when I got home I instantly filed a an annual pass member complaint about the Other park, they looked into it, 6 wks later, I received a generous gift card

Busch Gardens Williamsburg is the most beautiful theme park in the world according to the Golden tickets it wins every year. If Kings Dominion actually gets the supposed wing coaster and Busch gets the family invert both in 2025 it would be the first time KD has out done busch in a very long while. These are both my home parks

Having been to both recently, it really isn't a competition especially for the general public. BGW is significantly better park. It's like comparing Geauga Lake to Cedar Point. KD already lost the coaster war with BGW with the absolute failure of I305. Cedar Fair-Six Flags isn't going to throw significant at a market that isn't that it shares. There is an opportunity cost for theme park investments. You only have so much capital to invest. KD market (and potential profit) is limited as it is split, and will continue to be split for decades. They will invest in KD, and continue to modernize it. But this wing coaster isn't a B&M giga level investment. It's comparable to Thunderbird in size, a coaster at a medium sized independent park. The leaked information even shows it only runs two trains. If they believed KD would have a significant growth in attendance, they would have invested in 3 train operation. KD one hope for growing attendance and importance in the chain was year round operations. But it and Carowind failed as year round parks. BGW again beating KD with BGW's bigger focus on theming, shows, and events being better suited for year round operations.
