@Bandomeme2 жыл бұрын
@@bwenluck9812 I know very little about horses, very few Londoners do, and I don’t need to know. The guard horses are highly trained, looked after, and ridden by consummate professionals whose skills and opinion I trust over those of any random stranger on the internet. I have lived and worked in Westminster close to the Horse Guards for over 70 years. The ceremonial is important to the soldiers concerned and has been open to public view for several centuries without any reports of injuries to onlookers. Mounted guards are on duty from 10 AM to 4 PM and are changed every hour but if a horse shows notable signs of irritation or discomfort it is immediately returned to the stables. People must make their own decisions about what risks they are willing to take in life. If they insist on being jerks at the Horse Guards they risk a much swifter and more unpleasant reaction from the many armed police who guard the guards than from the horses.

These crowds are ridiculous!! I feel for the guards and horses! I wish people would understand this isn’t a show!

It's bad when the guards need protection

Brave souls. People are genuinely kind but need to show respectful fear of the damage this 1200 pound beast can do. Stop crowding it.

This beautiful horse is enjoying all the attention and does not seem to be the least bit stressed. To stand for great lengths of time in one spot can be hard and boring for a horse so having so much activity to watch is great mental stimulation for it. I do admit the people are all a bit closer than we usually see, though, but the horse doesn't seem to be bothered at all.

What did you not get? This is disrespectful, these are working soldiers and working horses. Would you approach policemen on horses in the US??? Might you end up in jail.

So many people treat the guards and horses like props for their own amusement...appalling!

There should be a boundary where the dumb humans cannot cross. The Guards and horses need their space

This is NOT a petting zoo, but a guardsman & horse doing their job. There would be hell to pay if the horse was startled & trod on somebody !

This shouldn’t be allowed block them off and they can look from at least 10 ft away.
