It's been super emotional watching the KoB and all tributes to KVD. If/when they do the Saginaw Bay episode I'm going to ball like a baby. Kevin has been my hero, idol, inspiration since I was a kid. I've had the pleasure of meeting him twice and every amazing thing everyone says about him are 110% true. Just an amazing human being that the world needs more of. I don't think the sport will be the same without him. Congratulations KVD, you fished your way and went out your way, no matter who comes after you there will never be another like you, the one, the only, the GOAT.

There are very few people who personify their sport. Gretzky (obviously im Canadian), Jordan, Brady, Pele. KVD is in that list of names, pro’s who took their sport to the next level. I really wish I had gotten to see you win one more classic. That would have been incredible, but it’s been a hell of a ride, and I hope retirement is long and fruitful for yourself and your family! Gotta say though, I’ll be happy not to have to watch so much MLF, because I really, really hate the format and ruleset.
