So much of the YPC and the improvement in defensive stats was AFTER the Marshall QB went out. So, that data is a bit skewed

Ohio State has not had a consistent pass rush since Chase Young. LJ linemen use the same techniques on every play. He refuses to change the looks by adding stunts, twist or spin moves. I believe there is a big disconnect between Johnson and Knowles’s and Larry gets his way. For someone who was the highest rated defensive recruit in the country, JT has been average at best. Sure, he’s had a couple games where he flashed, but other than that, he’s just another player.

Almost every pass this season goes out so fast if you are rushing against air you will not get a sack. Also there has not been many pass attempts to begin with 18 in the last game for example and the DLineman have gap responsibilities.You should do more study and research.

Agree. They are not a run-of-the-mill directional school. They regularly can hang with power conference schools. Not to mention d-line was down a starter in the middle.

We are explosive on O & it's nice to see we have a run game. I'd like to see more deep shots. My concern is the LB & not getting a pass rush. JTT was getting pushed around. We absolutely need to get pressure on the QB, & if that means putting a faster DE in the game, then do it. We continue to allow those quick screens, & they're turning them into 5/10 yds. I expect are D to get at least 1 TO a game. Kicking game garbage, & we passed up on a good 1.

Wonder how much of Joel Klatt's talking points have to do with carrying the water for Fox instead of voicing his own opinions. Same thing has happened to ESPN, which is why lots of OSU fans are glad we don't have to listen to their announcing crew. I'm disappointed in Joel, too. That's why I listen to the radio crew on 97.1 the Fan.

Ohip State has had; count em' E-I-G-H-T players record double digit sacks in a season since the stat has been recorded (40yrs). Two players have done it twice, Chase Young and Mike Vrable. When you have an elite pass rusher cooridinators will scheme them out of plays. Look how it was done to Chase Young in many games. More games mean more snaps but you can't use sacks as the ultimate measure of defensive linemans impact on the game.

We have to come to the realization that we lack a “speed rusher”. Sawyer and JT just are not that. He may be on the roster but not being looked at by Knowles and Johnson. CJ Hicks needs a shot at it.

Marshall was lifted a td that WAS out of bounds and they run a quick pass/air raid/spread offense that specifically is designed to take away pass rush and threat of the front 7. R E L A X. Not a good idea to try to catch a punt if the sun is in your eyes…… Neither is it a good idea to field the punt to your side over and over……. So stop the excuses => it needs to be coached better => much better ! PS. That being said, in days not long ago we had punt returners trying to catch the ball over their shoulders and over their head…..so this days deserved an F GRADE……the ones now deserve a D-……..some BN and Doug and Bill will be excited about the improvement. SMH.

Blocking with the possibility of receiving. A 4th WR might be sexy, but asking them to block a LB will kill a play. And then adding a 6th OL leaves no possibility of a TE sneaking out for a pass.

This defense is STILL SOFT - Knowles Era has been BAD TACKLING FUNDAMENTALS and Coach Mick S&C continues to underwhelm on defensive players - Marshall was merely a rare penalty on Inniss fumbled punt & their starting QB getting hurt due to OSU bad turf issue from giving up 30 points to Marshall , pitiful
