Nothing about Quinn Ewers was a mistake. He never tried to learn the playbook, it was obvious from the beginning of summer practice he never intended to stay. He got his bag and was planning his escape by September. He's scum, and will always be scum, no matter how well his talent level is.

I'm no expert but i think we need to close the splits on the defensive line. Our edge rushers JTT and Jack are power rushers not speed rushers. There's no need to run a wide 9 or whatever we were doing out there! Tighen up the DLine and let them play with power.

Jim didn’t blitz at all. Marshall had a great quick pass game plan to defeat the rush. Linebackers weren’t disciplined enough today but they’ll fit.

I don’t know what kind of scheme Knowles was running but it was not effective. Allowing easy runs up the middle and letting the QB run all over us is not going to do against TTUN. Need to rewatch the game but it seemed that our linebackers were never filling the run gaps.

Special teams still suspect. No pass rush is alarming and not a good sign. Still not seeing the deep ball from Howard but his short to midrange is really good so we will just have to roll with it. Running game is great, receivers are great. Linebacker play is meh, D need to see more juice!

The right side of the line is an issue compared to the left. Curry in my opinion impacts the game more than JT. The LBs aren't square in the lanes causing drives to be extending. A lot of teams face adversity but getting in your way shouldn't be part of it. B1G OFFICIATING CREWS ARE HORRENDOUS!!! Every time we're trying to get in rhythm they either can't get a call right or can't figure out what they're looking for. C+ today.

The defensive line hasn’t been relevant since Chase Young left. Larry Johnson plays the same front on every play. His lines doesn’t stunt, twist or god forbid, do a spin move. The middle of the line was open all game for the QB. Larry Johnson doesn’t think sacks is that important of a stat. Anytime you get a tackle for a loss is a big deal! Larry needs to retire.

Couldn't agree more. Look, I'm all for paying homage, however, our defensive lines don't confuse the offensive lines that we play. Football is a beautiful sport that allows you to be creative, aggressive, and instinctive. Our d-coordinator got this job because of how aggressive and creative he was at ok state. Outside of year 1, we're seeing the exact opposite. It's like our defensive game-plan has become stale.

Is there things to complain about? Yes… always… but we’re complaining from an 35 point win…. We ran the ball for 9 ypc and threw for 11.1 ypp…. Our defense didn’t play the solidified lineup and were mixing and matching. 132 yards of the 139 yards passing Marshall did was in the first half and the entire offense was held under 50 total yards and they were under 40% on third down. You really can only gripe about the first half which they adjusted and fixed within the personnel, the special teams and the 5 penalties which were just silly penalties that need cleaned up. A lot to improve upon in those areas but not “the sky is falling” and still great compared to many other teams in the country with closer calls and losses to Mac schools. This will be fine. Seems like the biggest fix needs to be the bye week routine. We always come out flat after a bye.

I think there has been a disconnect between LJ and Knowles ever since Jim was hired. Larry is too stubborn to change his style of play and is a reason the Jack position is just a myth. As a result, the OSU d-line plays the same front with no changes or innovation. The opposing OLine knows what’s coming and even less talent can win knowing it’s the same routine every play.

I am glad we won today but am frustrated with the way that we played against MARSHALL...lol We better get it together before we play the better teams on our schedule or it might NOT turn out well and sayin is officially qb 2 after today like I have been thinking & saying after hearing how day talked about and was praising him during fall camp...I really liked devin too but he has had several chances to show that he should be the starter and it hasn't worked out and now I don't think he is gonna get his chance here so I just wish him the best wherever he ends up at.

Starting DE's have literally never impressed me from a pass rudh standpoint. Nor did the ones before them. IDL Still are average at best. Larry Johnson man, smh. Jayden Fielding & Will Howard have always felt a bit shaky in their execution. Will is always a bit too frenetic with his energy which I think keeps him from maintaining good mechanics & throws off his acccuracy/ball placement. Idk why people keep dogging Devin he is a clearly better pure passer. Not that I'm saying he should start but there may some games where he is a better option when you have to pass. Fielding has just always been shaky with his kicks.
