Yo, I commented about this on Dustin's post in a Uinta's group he is in with me (and probably you and everyone else here haha). So cool man, I'm stoked you recorded this all and gave a look at what it was like, real bucket list stuff this adventure would be. Sounds brutal, but that's just how it should be.

Thanks, for all the suffering involved it really was awesome. But, brutal is right. If it was easy there would be a ton of people there!

Are you still recovering from this brutal trip? That is something I would never have tried, even when I was young like you. I think it is about time for you to take another hike on the Bourbon Lake trail to the unnamed lake. The snow should be about gone there now because of the lower elevation. I've been there three or four times and did crazy good for 14" brookies the first time but never have done much good the other times.

I ended up with pneumonia and mono brought on by exhaustion. I’m better now and headed to Yellowstone for a 6 day backpacking trip in a few weeks. I need to get back up to that unnamed lake and see how it is this year.

How much snow is there when you have to park? And I’m assuming HFT is still unreachable by car?

The road to the trailhead was still snowed in. Otherwise the main forest road was dry and in good shape. It adds 3.4 miles each way
