If Putin says 160,000 new recruits have joined the Russian military, it's probably more like 60,000. Or even fewer. You can't trust literally anything the Kremlin says. Also, while 4,500 new Ukrainian troops trained by France may not sound like a lot, think of the quality of the troops. Ukrainian troops are 10x the quality of their Russian counterparts in every way imaginable. Their supplies, training, morale, etc. So really, it's like Ukraine has 45,000 new recruits instead of 4,500. Not to mention they will train others in what they've learned. Numbers can be deceptive.

In case you have not noticed Ukraine's strength (and therefor bargaining strength) is very much reliant on it's supporters. So it's a very good idea to figure out your position and strength with your supporters BEFORE you start negotiating with your opponent. Also Russia's demands to even start negotiating are absolutely bonkers, so don't get your hopes up for a political solution any time soon :/
@joduh46656 ай бұрын
@@damac5136 The west position is to support Ukraine and Ukraine's choices for any potential peace. As far as how reasonable those first demands were Russia had lost it's credibility by invading AFTER having negotiated and broken the Minsk 2 accord. So yea can't really blame Ukraine giving up more land for Putin's pinky promise to not take more in the future.

I am guessing you are US American. English is afaik the only language that pronounces "i" as "ai". It's because of the Great Vowel Shift 1400-1700, which changed a lot of vowels in English. Some words still keep the pronunciation that other European languages have, like in "bill". US English tends to use the "new" pronunciation a bit more often than say British English
@AW_DIY_garage6 ай бұрын
@@Spacemongerr I am definitely American. I would not guarantee the US military thought about the shift in vowels in the previous centuries. They instead started using an acronym like a word and it stuck. Super interesting though, and thanks for dropping knowledge.
