Really excellent all around, and I appreciate the solid performance by the trumpeters. They are producing all notes without the aid of valves, just air support, subtle tongue and embouchure shifts, and a few small holes for perfecting intonation. How wonderful that we live in a time when the almost-vanished art of playing the natural Baroque trumpet has been revived.

This year in December, is the 80th performance of the Messiah at the Sydney Town Hall using the same format as Kings College. And Messiah is always something special to look forward to. Not as austere as Kings College; but the organ is the largest in southern hemisphere and when installed, the world for a little while. Ive sung in the choir for the last 3 years. They need Council permission to play the large pipes because of the strength of the vibrations! For Hallalujah and the Amen all stops are pulled out and its amazing. The 400 strong choir only just makes it over the organ.
