Check out the Kingsford Kaddy Charcoal Bin Review. You will see how 20lb bags and 15lb bags fit. I show how to cut the bag in order for it to store and pour. Here's some details on the Kaddy:
-Made of recycled polypropylene with a black finish.
-High density polyethylene lid
-Heavy duty handle for easy carrying and use.
-Polished black finish.
-8 gallon capacity, can hold 23lbs of charcoal.
-Weatherproof design.
I hope you enjoy this complete overview video. Please comment and subscribe!

Have 2 of these, and they are worth the price. They keep the charcoal dry and don’t take up a lot of space. Some have said a bucket works as well, but this is designed to pour into a chimney starter without making a mess. Nice review.

Thanks, I think it's worth it too. It's just the right size and yes, it works well with the chimney.

Thank you very much for the video. It was very helpful. May I add that the directions on Kaddy say "Replace Lid with Bag Gripper piece INSIDE the open bag". The bag gripper is the piece that is at the front of the Kaddy below the flip top. This keeps the bag in place. It also enables the charcoal to glide smoothly from the blue plastic lid into the grill or starter. I love that it is made in the USA. I just purchased it at Lowes for $11.98 plus tax. I also discovered through KZbin that Weber makes "Lighter Cubes" that allows you to put the charcoal directly into the grill to light the charcoal. Home Depot sells a box of 24 cubes for a little over $3 (have not check Lowes yet). The picture shows that you put 2 cubes on the coals and light the coals. The directions say: 1. Place 2-3 cubes in center of charcoal grate. 2. Pile briquets in a pyramid fashion on top of the lighter cubes with corner of cube showing. 3. Ignite cubes, leaving grill lid off. 4. Let charcoal burn 20 to 30 minutes until ashed over before cooking. This is great news for RVers. Less things to carry!

+A Nelson Thanks for the directions about the bag gripper. I didn't see instructions with my Kingsford Kaddy. The Weber Chimney Starter works well for me, but I can understand how it wouldn't be practical for RVers. I'll have to try the Weber Lighter Cubes. I'm curious to see how they work. Thanks for commenting.

I have used those Weber starter cubes you only need one to start a chimney but sure they would love you to use two. :)

Good video. Thanks. I have the bin and had not been including the bag, but after seeing your video now I do. You could tell by watching your video though, that the bag is suposed to fit between that inner lip and the bin. For me, my charcoal bag was always under a patio roof anyway, so the real value of the bin can be argued. Probably just gives my grilling area a cleaner look.

Yes, I'd say it gives a cleaner look too.

What’s the benefit of not just dumping them in there again?
@jwseal
@jwseal 4 жыл бұрын
@@elbob17 Yes I used to just dump them from the bag, but I found that I had a tendency to want to "top off". Doing that took away the work reduction benefit on this bin. Keeping the bag means I only replenish when empty, and that, for me, saves work overall. Other than that not much.

Save those bag clippings, they work great as charcoal chimney fuel to start up the coals.

I've two of these for quite awhile. Didn't know that you were supposed to keep it inside the bag. Makes sense if you use different types of briquettes.. Thanks!
