Getting Kick Ass 2 flashbacks. The first one was so good and it was directed by Matthew Vaughn but when it came to the sequel it just wasn't as smart and fun as the first. Sounds like the same thing happened here sadly. I just hope we do get a third Kingsman movie unlike never getting a Kick Ass 3.

Daniel Rivera It's not nearly as bad. I was drunk when I saw that and nearly walked out. This is just another over long, over the top amusement park ride. Not a whole lot different from other blockbusters this year. It's not badly edited or convoluted (except one part) either. Fairly straight forward and easy to follow.....but yeah it's not something to take seriously and ask questions.

超粒方 Agreed. I'm surprised they said Harry was underused when he had a ton of screen time. The way they brought him back was completely stupid but you aren't supposed to take any of this serious (like look at the villains). I dunno, it seems like Korey can go along for the ride with certain dumb blockbusters but bashes the fuck out of others for realism issues. Kong: Skull Island comes to mind (which I also thought was fun). This was overlong but I completely disagree with them that it didn't go anywhere (and it least the editing was good here and the story was easy to follow). Guardians Vol. 2 felt way more like filler than this did since they bring up Marvel too. Is it great? No. But I had a good time revisiting this universe and that's all I wanted from it.

Guardians 2 actually developed the characters that were established and explored their overall baggage while also moving forward in that universe. None of the characters in Kingsmen 2 really develop so much as they just repeat their schtick that was in the first movie. Kingsmen 2 is just another one of those underwhelming sequels that just reappeats what you like about the first movie and doing nothing else.

Kingsman:The Golden Circle is basically just a fun popcorn movie. The first Kingsman was much smarter with better character development and a much more concise plot. Kingsman:TGC dragged a bit (checked my cell phone twice), some characters needed more screen time, others needed less screen time, one or two action scenes went on too long. As for the Elton John cameo...why? I am guessing that Barry Manilow, Wayne Newton and Celine Dion were either too busy or too expensive.

Just saw it, I can definitely see where these guys are coming from. Vaughn knows that the whole thing is over the top and stupid and plays it up way more here than the first, so that may turn some people off. It's a movie made for a very niche audience and I'm in that, so I had a blast with it. This is the type of movie that you turn your brain off and enjoy, because the filmmakers actually intend it with these movies. I feel the same way as I did with Guardians Vol. 2, had more fun, but the first is a better made movie. For me, it's a matinee.

Julianne Moore does her best to make her villainous role fun, but she's no Samuel L. Jackson. Also, the film feels cartoonish (which is weird considering how outlandish the first film was), but it's not grounded in anything which is the problem this time around. I liked some of the film's individual elements like the song selection and the score, the cinematography is suitable to the project, and Strong, Egerton, and Firth still have that winning chemistry. It's not a terrible film. There's still enough good in it for me to give it a High Rental. But, I wouldn't go any higher than that.

They go on and on about how this is a Cartoon. But really so was the first one. What part of people heads exploding into colorful fireworks is not a cartoon. Frankly i think this might be a little more convoluted than the first one. But overall i thought it was an enjoyable movie. I saw it last night and I will say it wasn't everything I wanted, but I still enjoyed it. I felt like I didn't get everything I wanted out of the return of Harry and I did want to see more of the statesman. Things were a little jumbled and some parts that were a little too far fetched/dumb. Basically it could have been edited better with some scenes that weren't unnecessary . That being said I still liked it, it was fun. If they do make another, I really hope they learn from a couple of the slip ups in this and bring back the full charm that the first had.

Korey, you totally nailed it with the action figure analogy and have it right for what this was going for. It's over the top dumb fun that should have been released in the summer and you aren't meant to question it's realism. Yes, it's overlong and several characters arcs could have been cut out....but leading nowhere? Not any worse than Guardians Vol. 2 (since you bring up Marvel). I thought this felt a lot less like filler than that and I actually liked that the action here was (for the most part) a lot easier to follow than the original. I love you guys but it seems like you're willing to give some movies a pass for being an amusement park ride and others....not so much. I loved War For The Planet Of The Apes but you'd have to be blind to not question the realism of the third act. You have to completely turn your brain off to get to/and during the final set piece just like a lot of the stuff here. Somehow I didn't see these same realism criticisms lobbed at that though. And on that topic, I know you bashed The Fate Of The Furious but I remember Goodwin giving it a Full Price when he's criticizing this for issues that, that definitely has in spades. And for the record I thought that was dumb fun too. You nailed it comparing it to an 80s/90s cartoon but to me, that didn't make it any less fun. Sometimes turn your brain off action is just a good night out (and unlike some recent blockbusters - at least the editing wasn't a mess and it was pretty straight forward). Totally on point with Julianne Moore and the underuse of Channing Tanning and Jeff Bridges though.

I liked the film but when I came out of it, I felt all the weaknesses hit me at once. Wasted a lot of potential good characters, too much going on, villain started off strong but became 1 note, hell I loved her sidekick the winter soldier more as the movie continued, Eggys should've just had a one night stand with the princess not a relationship, Harry never truly returned he was kind of a shell of himself. Overall I enjoyed my theater experience but I won't be owning this movie, hell I don't even want to rent this. I rate this a silver (out of bronze, silver, gold, platinum, DIAMOND. Basically a low rental. ) and that's me being nice and loving the first so much.

As to the Golden Tattoo: Well, you can say that is a homage/parody of James Bond/Roger Moore era. Recall that members of Spectre either wore a ring with the symbol of their secret organization on it, or had a tattoo of the squid/octopus somewhere on their body, usually easily visible outside of clothing, instead of between the butt cheeks or something ^_^ As to the cartoon aspect: The trailers alone made me think of "G.I. Joe", particularly with the 'Statesmen" :-)

I think some of the critiques of this movie were really weak. For instance complaining about the 80's themed villain, when the first film used 80's songs in the 2 main fights. Complaining about how dumb it was for victims of the drugs eyes do burst, even though the first film had cartoonist head explosions. I mean in general both movies evil plots were equally over the top and unrealistic so I'm confused why to hate it for that. Overall I think with any sequel it can't be more of the same, and golden circle did a good job trying to capture the best parts of the first film while introducing new things (even if they were more over the top). I will say though, Golden Circle was more of a comedy romp compared to the first film. I was laughing throughout. Its a full price for me, and I didnt even watch the first film in theaters.

Anyone else not understand the hate on this sequel? I found it fun as hell to watch. Elton John was fucking hilarious and was a surprising fun character! The plot was a lot more predictable than I would have liked it to be at times, but the action was fun as hell and I had a good watching it! In honesty, they bash realism of the action sequences, but it's not really that much more over the top than the first one and definitely not more over the top than something like Fast and Furious which they love. So i don't understand the rating especially when they love the stupid shit in movies like Fast and Furious... Very solid Matinee!

The original was great because it was genuine and actual effort put in to it...now all these so called stars see the movie made money and need to get their names on it and completely ruin a good thing

There was plenty of effort put into this. It had development, plots and smart tie ins to the last one. Couldn't ask for much more from a sequel

I feel the same way as you guys. It was definitely entertaining at points, but it just felt like the first movie on repeat. Plus with so many characters and actors wasted, why even make it two and a half hours? I'd say Rental I uploaded my own review on my channel a couple of days ago if you guys wanna check it out! Keep up the great work everyone and stay toasty!

Apparently the original cut was 3 1/2 hours. I actually enjoyed the sequel immensely and am eager to see the extended cut on DVD.
