Hello Kevin! Thanks for starting the investigation. There are clearly too many board blowing following a couple patterns like if the wheel documented case of dropping after a pedal clip, motor starts to spin around and *poof*. I invited you to the S22 dealer group and attached the datasheet there. Let's get that one fixed. The S22 can't be a reliable wheel until then.

Try searching for JMSH1504ATL - it is a 150V mosfet and the company logo matches what you found.

I wish you can compile a list of everything wrong with the problematic wheels, so the community can make proper purchase choices.

That’s a pretty long list, stretching back to 2020! It seems that there’s hardly been a problem-free wheel made in the past couple of years, with a few notable exceptions, based upon the tried and tested models such as Veteran Sherman - the new Max seems to be pretty solid, on the whole - and the older models from Gotway, like the EXN and the RS. It’s not been a great time for anyone looking for a solid upgrade or new replacement wheel, so many early adopters have been left disappointed with the newer models. Let’s hope manufacturers get their QC act together, and build simply solid, reliable wheels again. The InMotion V13 looks pretty solid so far, but it is too heavy for many to be an everyday wheel. Sherman - S suspension wheel is built on good foundations, but it’s only just about to launch. The Begode T4 promised much, but like it’s bigger brother the Master, there appears to be recurring build quality and reliability issues that are just too hard to ignore, especially for the asking price of these units. The Kingsong S20/22 has been quite a lemon for so many who literally bought into the hype, and it still ain’t sorted out as we can see above.

@@freeforester1717 He can start compiling the list of high-performance wheels going forward. One of the EUC KZbinrs got to do this. It would benefit the Joes and Janes going forward, seeing them fall short on the brand new wheels like S22. I don't trust weaker wheels due to the nature of EUC. T4 got blown board and motor, reporting from chooch, so data points are coming in. V13 seems to be a solid, minus the battery/price. So Sherman S is more my betting horse for the Joes and Janes.

A list would be great! Including which issues have been solved with the new batches!

Great work! Thank you for that!

It makes sense that two fets are blown - since they are 2 per phase. There is no way you can replace just some - you need to replace all 12 and ideally have them from the same batch.

Hi Kevin! Thanks for the inspiration on checking bad mosfets using the ESR02 pro. I got a blown MOBO on my exn and picked up a tester to check the mosfets. Have you tested a mosfet but the tester result is “N-E-IGBT” instead of a “N-E-MOS” like in 2:32?

Thank you for the video. Which production patch date is this S22 coming from and when did you receive it?

S22 non pro and S22 Pro have the same board/fets?
@Nate-r3g Жыл бұрын
It's my understanding that the S22 and S22 Pro both use an identical control board, with "version 2.3" printed on the bottom. That's what my S22 came with, that's what KS sent when my board burned out, and that's what someone else found when they burned out the board in their S22 Pro. :(

Not quite Military Grade Hardware but still a curious addiction.

Yea the failure rate is probably over 20% which is really bad. Some people are on their third board!!!
