Yes the central air conditioning system with ducts to each room is the most popular system here in the States.

@@aberba that’s just how it’s done in most homes. But to compare to how it’s done here in Ghana and other countries I think it looks better just like having the cassette instead of the bulky unit on the walls and we have the one unit outside with the central air. It probably isn’t more cost efficient since I hear people complain every summer about theirs going out and having to pay to have it repaired or replaced but most have insurance so that pays for majority of the cost.

Great video and thank you for covering multi-zone AC system. I first asked my architect to incorporate multi-zone system in my AC design but the MEP designed a commercial AC system with duct system..... instead of multi-zone ductless AC. Most AC companies in GH don’t know a lot about the ductless multi-zone system for residential use. Well, I talked to Mr. Cool and Alpine home air here in the US and they designed one for me fit for residential use.. a 48,000 BTU (4.0 Ton) 21.5 SEER Five Zone Ductless Mini-Split AC System - Wi-Fi Capable. I went with Mr. cool version because it came with all the kits.(copper line set and all). (That means no extra cost for phase 1 AC install in GH).. I paid $4000, way expensive than if I had bought the single zone units but we did energy use comparison and know that in the long run I will save on energy cost using the multi-zone. It uses 230-Volt/60Hz .. Most people don't use multi zone AC in Ghana because they are worried of the Energy cost.. Very misunderstood technology.... Ductless multi-zone AC system is the way to go.. Also energy use is incremental according to indoor units (air handlers) turned on, so when 3 units are not being used, then less energy is being used….

Multi zones AC's are Not recognised in Ghana, the most efficient and reliable one is the Ducting AC, Even Here in Dubai, one package unite is usually used for a one bedroom hall apartment. They mostly provide a VAV ( variable air volume) in the room to control the air flow whiles the main remote controller is fitted in the hall. Hope you find this useful. The central AC with ducts is the popular one in Canada. The biggest disadvantage is your basement gets the best service. One annoyance, which is not necessarily the ACs fault is that you get inundated with calls from duct cleaning service. Those who live in North America will know.

Congratulations 🎊 Mr. Kingsley. Sharing my thought! 1. Multi zone ACs are not yet available or recognised in Ghana. The traditional Ducting system is what is available in the market. Also, the single zone with recessed ceiling is also available but are mostly employed by Banking halls or large conference rooms. 2. To install a Single package Ducting system in a 4 bedroom house, VAV ( Variable Air Volume) are introduced in the various rooms to control the air flow, whiles the main indoor unit is either fitted in the bathroom ceiling or kitchen ceiling.. Having a single air handler with a single outdoor AC unit 3 ton would probably be able to handle their largest homes out. There would be cheaper then to run multiple units at one time. I’m speaking cheaper and the cost of operation. And it also provide more even call areas than what they have with multiple zones units.
