Hey was just wondering have you played around with moving the pickups around cause I know in this set the neck is the hottest and know they were designed that way but just curious if you have played around with moving them around since they nit reverse wound. I'm sure you probably have since you designed them but never spoke to anyone who has ever tried it cause I have a set and was curious to see how they would react. Also are you still going to come out with the bridge on your strat and sell them thanks

Hey! You can place them in any order. We wind the bridge pickup lower because it gives it a warmer more balanced tone. Most modern pickup sets overwind the bridge, which can make it sound loud but very harsh. Fender vintage sets also had an underwound bridge pickup. If you use a bridge pickup a lot, the underwound BlueBird bridge pickup is the way to go.

How do you set the height of the pickups roughly to get the most quack out of the pickups?

The best way to set the pickups is play the highest note on the guitar and allow around 1/8” clearance on the high strings, do the same for the lowest string (low E) and allow 1/4” so the pickup is slanting. Neck and middle should be the same, bridge can be closer and straight.

Fantastic sound! I love that classic SRV sound! What about the middle pickup... is it RW/RP? Looking at the pictures from your website, it looks like all three pickups are wired from hot to ground? ☮ BTW! Do you use the "THE KING ‘TONE’ SWITCH" is this play-trough?

Hey! RWRP is something worth avoiding if you can. We don’t use RWRP for the middle as it can have a negative effect on the tone.

​@@jessetwohands Thank you so much for your answer🙏 I'm not a master in all this, and it's just now that I realize that this missing RWRP thing, was part of the SRV tone! My friend left his Stratocaster with me, and asked me to renew the pots and look at the switch and wiring. I got a little confused when I saw that it was all south up and and no RWRP! Now I am relieved and more knowledgeable, looking very much forward, to hopefully repair, it!☮

Hey! No problem :) The Kingtone switch is designed to work with standard passive pickups, if your pickup needs a battery the switch won’t work.
